Hey "dagobert", genius, first off: Nice use of bad colour. It really pulled the crap together. Second of all, I needed the information for a singleplayer mod based in the Halflife 2 world. So here's an idea.. keep your idiocy out of my thread, and if you really can't contain it, make your own...
I'm not exactly sure where you are or what you're talking about.
Care to grant us with a screenshot of your location?
By the way, I would imagine it's you, not the game.
Possibly. In that sequence however, which is the only one I remember being opened [excluding with Alyx later in the game], the guard just knocks on the door and the combine on the other side checks it, then opens.
I emailed Gabe/Lombardi about it. I really am curious.
I'm not angry. I don't really care about it at all. However, I'm a nice person, so I figure I'd do my bit for the world in general and the people around you, and remind you that you're an idiot. Go away.
I was playing through a bit of the game, trying to get as much of a feel for city 17 as possible, and I wondered how the locks for City 17 worked. Here is a picture of one:

What I don't understand is how the citizens are supposed...
Wait until the full source comes out, thats what I'm doing. In the meantime, read all the documentation you can, and download some tutorial videos that show you what to do.
Just keep looking, and remember that appearances aren't everything - the answer might be right in front of you but you can't see it because you're not being thorough enough.
1) make sure you turn off the sand pounders.
2) after the first couple, there is a passage between them that runs up behind one of them. Just keep looking around, and use the antlions as a distraction while you're looking.
It's not going to take over 3 years, I don't think. They have the source engine down, they have steam down, they've organised all the tools, all they really need to do is work on the game itself.
For clarity, is that 'should' being used in the sense that
"Valve should release it as a deleted scene some time in the future" In that it is an expectation,
or
"Valve should release it as a deleted scene, I really wanted to see that hydra" in that it is something you would like to see...
D'keesto I will definitely give this a go. I think you should show us all the edited textures though - old and new, so we can appreciate them as well :)
You did get a straight answer, genius. Maybe if you'd bothered searching or paying even the smallest amount of attention you wouldn't have made a new thread, because I think there are about 3 others on the front page that have answers that describe how to do it.
Then when somebody pays you...
Ahnteis, I'd just like to mention again what a kickass quote that is in your sig. I remember the initial fiasco, and that was one of the defining moments.
The replay value is incredible. I don't think I'll be playing the game as a story any time soon, but in my spare time I just know I'll be loading up HL2 every so often just to go exploring and replaying cool missions, as well as seeing all the stuff I missed the first time around.
Did ANYBODY actually try and cross the bridge before going underneath it? I have no idea what that button does. It probably turns off a force field thing, or lowers the bridge, or gets rid of some obstruction.
I love how we automatically go towards the solution to the problem, without even...
I remember this thread. I liked it the first time round, and I like it now when I've come back to check the information. I think this is the right city, even though when I tried the lat/long finder it screwed up :(
It says there is a city 17, city 22 and city 26 when I search in google.. How...
