Seems like Valve is just spread too thin. They have a ridiculous amount of software in the works. Either that or they are all just too busy playing video games to get any work done!
Does anyone know if there was a solution to this problem? I've been having the same issue for quite some time and just have given up on playing Source Engine games. I can play anything and everything except Source engine games...
Wasn't the whole point of episodic content to avoid the ginormous wait between games? If valve couldn't time the release of TF2 and Portal with Episode 2, then they should've delayed THOSE games and released Episode 2 by itself.
Alright well I could see how dust might mess with the heat of my video card, but why would saving my game cause the crash if it was a graphics problem? Wouldn't just running the game for enough time to heat up the card cause the problem? Saving the game is more of a CPU intensive thing than GPU...
Well, re-installing HL2 didn't work. I don't know what's goin on with it. All my settings and stuff were not deleted and neither were my saves, so I used those... think I should try using something else? My save game might be corrupted or something :-\ Hmm... I dunno, though. It loads fine and...
I think most people were able to complete the puzzles without any problems. That's kind of a bummer to me though. I would like some more challenging puzzles.
I believe that Gabe responds to e-mails personally provided that the communication isn't a carbon copy of 500 e-mails he already received from other people. If you've got something that he thinks is worth reading, you may get an actual response. The guy is busy from what I hear, though!
OK, the object of this "puzzle" is to get the giant gate open so it is no longer blocking the path of your airboat. The airborne vehicle you wanted to shoot down was actually a drop ship, and it was responsible for the several combine soldiers you encountered on the way back. Once you've figured...
I can run far cry on maximum settings at 1024x768 resolution with no problems whatsoever, and I have never had problems with HL2 up until this past week. In my experience, memory errors can cause instant system reboots without warning, but I don't know what would be causing the memory error...
Okay, so it also restarts during other seemingly random points during gameplay. This has never been a problem in the past. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
OK, so I have had HL2 on my system for awhile now, and just the other day (after a steam update), I picked up the game and the moment I hit F5 to save the game, my computer restarts. I have saved a couple time using F5, but the game eventually restarts my computer anyway. So what do you think...
I was having the same problems that you are experiencing, apache. I solved them by purchasing MSVC 2003 .Net under an Academic license from my school. 100 bucks for all the functionality of the professional version, plus some student tools, and the implied ability to compile and run all of the...
Ah! It works. Great stuff. I will be doing a lot of reading in the next few days about modifying other parts of the source code and understanding how some parts of this stuff work.
Well, not really, but it still doesn't work! I bought MSVC .Net 2003 so that I could compile and run the HL2 source code, however, after a successful compilation ( i only changed RPG_SPEED in the weapon_rpg.cpp file to 400 as in the "first mod" tutorial ), the game gives me an error...
