[MLB]Loser, i've got my system overclocked. AthlonXP @ 2.3GHz (stock 2.1GHz) and 9800 Pro @ 430core/371memory (stock 378/337). But you have an Athlon64, i think your scores are a little low for your system. You should be scoring in the low to mid 6000's...look into some tweaking.
Yeah, pc4000 is no good for tight timings like you're talking about.
Go for some HyperX pc3200 with the bh-5 chips, the one's without the A in the model number...like this KHX3200/256. NOT like this...KHX3200A/256. They do 2-2-2-6 at boot up.
Read this thread about the Sapphire 256mb 9800 Pro's before you committ to buying an XT.

Go with ATi.
Nvidia's future may be looking bright right now as they've redeemed themselves with their latest releases and they have the NV40 coming up, but ATi is still on top. So as of right now i'd say go with ATi.
I agree 100%.
In my opinion, anything below 40fps is unplayable. And i thought Deus Ex2 ran great on my system, atleast compared to what most everyone else were claiming. I averaged about 60fps at all times which is great. 8)

What are the rest of your system specs? Because that matters too. A 9800 Pro will run any game around right now damn well, AS LONG as the rest of your system balances out with it. Also, you can always overclock a 9800 Pro later on if it starts slacking on you. You can even usually get a...
overclocking CPU via FSB
Havent read through this thread since it was on like page three so i figured i'd just throw this out at you guys and see what you think...
I've recently overclocked my 9800 Pro (Rage3d tweak) and AthlonXP 3000+ (upped the multiplier) and now i want to try...
The tighter your RAM's timings, the better performance you'll get. But it wont be better performance by leaps and bounds, just a little. I'm actually running 1gig of Corsair Value Select RAM 2.5-3-3-8 and my system runs great. Value Select RAM isnt much for overclocking though. ;(
'AGP Aperature Size' determines the maximum amount of system RAM that can be allocated to the graphics card for texture storage.....its not how much of the cards 'own' memory is used.
If your graphics card has very little graphics memory, then you should set as large an AGP aperture as you...
Pretty nice case theneb, i prefer a window on the side panel though to see inside where the goods are.:)

All i can say is that cooling he has on the CPU and 9800XT must be amazing.
The video card OC alone is something to drool over...657/471???
@ hyenolie, it's not how it looks, but how it performs.;)
Besides, extreme OC'ers dont use cases for temp reasons.
