Yeah, I always use arctic silver 3 myself.. Not only on cpu but on chipset and gpu also. Helps a little bit.
Those are really noisy
Even noisier.. I couldn't stand that. And also with time, you'll get allot of dust in your system. And we all know that dust in your computer is not really that...
I've heard from several sources that ATi's R360 chip (the one they will be using for 9900pro cards) is basically the same thing as their R350 chip (used by 9800 pro cards) only with a bit higher clock speeds. Hence the term, overclocked 9800pro. You can probably expect 9900pro running a bit...
Sorry, forgot.. I'm not getting a 2.8GHz any more... I think a 2.4GHz(800MHz fsb) running @ 1000MHz fsb (3GHz?) will sync better with the ram.
Plz correct me if I'm wrong on this one...
Enermax make really good quality PSU's.. But they cost more then Antec for example, so I agree.. Antec seems to be the best choice if you combine quality and value.
I'm really happy with my Enermax 460W though :)
Most cpu fans blow ("out") hot air from the heatsink, which becomes a great heat source even if the rear fans blow allot of it out of the case (which also leads to warmer room temp, and all together warmer case temp)
Slightly overly heated systems normally don't start causing problems until it's too late. He might want to upgrade his cooling if he doesn't want some of his components to die on him.
However, If you have good quality stuff (like harddrives that are not too sensitive to heat etc) 40 °C in...
I wasn't aware that we were in a competition of who's got the best avatar.
At least that's me in my avatar.. I think it's a pretty safe bet to say that's not you in yours. Plus I've seen that pic that your using lots of times before.
I'm using water cooling, and I cool cpu, psu and chipset with it.. So I have no real heat source that blows out warm air in my case... Plus it keeps my cpu really cool, just the way I like it :). I have 2x80mm fans blowing in at my harddrives and another set of 80mm fans in the back blowing out...
It's pretty normal temperatures. But too warm for my taste, I like to keep my stuff cool. I would get good cooling for your harddrives. The No. 1 reason for harddrive crashes are that they have been over heated.
I have a Athlon XP 2000+ and it's about 37 °C idle
My case temp is 1c over room...
I'm dead set on what mobo to get, what gfx to get, what cpu I want etc.. The only thing I'm not sure about is the system memory.
What do you guys think would give best performance?
2x256mb(512mb) PC4000 500MHz memories
or
2x512mb(1024mb) PC3200 400MHz memories?
(512mb pc3200 cost...
Best thing is to ask in forums like this one, do a little research on internet and learn how to build it yourself and also which components are the best. Prebuilt systems screw you out of your money, They sell a shiny box with mediocre to crappy components for a expensive price.
For the most...
You should not have to reformat.. Probably just have to get all the nvidia crap out of the registry which the uninstall program doesn't remove. Anyway, this is probably a question you should be asking nvidia.. You should mail them and ask how to completely remove their drivers.
Anyone know any thing about these badboys? (pdf file)
I've been thinking allot about what RAM to get.. I had my mind set on a pair of Corsair TwinX PC3200 400Mhz. But those Kingston's @ 800MHz seem pretty extreme. Anyone know if they should work properly on a i875p board and if I will get any...
My plans are to get a:
ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe i875P
Intel Pentium 4 Northwood 2.8GHz -C Hyperthreading 800MHz
Corsair TWINX1024-3200LL 1024Mb (2x512Mb) DDR PC3200 CAS2 400Mhz
ATi Radeon 9800 pro 128mb
SB Audigy2
The cost of thi stuff is really too much, don't like to think about that...
question is if 256mb graphics memory will do HL2 any good.. In todays games it has shown very little improvement in resolutions up to 1600*1200.. If any at all.
