Reading all these high reviews, it sure doesnt sound very gimmicky to me. I know the physics and such play a part in CS: S already, and hasn't really gotten gimmicky in there yet.
Really, who right now that's paying attention to all this hubub HASNT restarted Steam a couple of times... even if this is the fakest hoax I've seen in a while, I've still done it. Just for the thin shred of hope... because when there is no hope, what is there left to live for? :)
Look closely at the pic, the guy's hand is directly behind the cover. If it were a real box his hand would be situated behind farther and you'd be able to see the side of the box. Not to mention the shoddy job up by his thumb and the tiny glimpse of a manual... Psh.
I'll only believe it...
This whole thing is throwing the HL2 community around like mad. People are gonna kill this username kid when they find out it's a hoax.
It'll be fake. If it isnt, I'll make someone eat my hat. :P
I find I can easily get attached to people when speaking with them face to face, but just knowing them soley on the internet usually doesn't get me too attached. Perhaps it's a past experience with internet relationships that stopped me from caring, or perhaps it's because the person you're...
Ah okay yeah, so it sounds like Holland's Gymnasiums are pretty similar to German ones, which I'm fairly familiar with.
I've heard that Gymnasium depression/suicide rates were significantly higher than say Realschule... due to the stress and pressure. Still true or no?
Oh, and what...
Actually you can homeschool throughout high school here. It may be up to the school district though. I believe you have to take some sort of GED test or equivalent when you're done with your homeschooling though, and you still get to go to the graduation ceremony just like everyone else...
I'm used to leaving forums once games are out... then coming back couple months later. HL1 was the same way for me, I posted hundreds of threads and replies back in the day before HL1 came out on Jasper's Half-Life site (or did they become Contaminated.net by then? I think they did...) then HL1...
A nice old 486. I don't even remember the specs on it, but I do remember that the next computer we got had the option for a CD-ROM drive and I about crapped my pants. :P
Ah yeah, good call He_Who_Is_Steve. :)
Homeschooling, another choice parents have. Instead of sending their children off to public or private schools, the learning material is sent home for the student to use. Therefore, the parent is the one with the responsibility to teach the student...
Well pretty much the average American goes through this type of school system:
Some decide to start their children early and enroll them in "Pre-School" which is pretty much a day care with some learning involved. ;)
Most start in Kindergarten and this is usually the start of Elementary...
Hey, my parents used to tell me to get the hell off this thing and go outside and get a tan. Now I'm gone every day, lift weights, run and go to college and they would kill to have me home for one day.
It's just your parents dealing with the oncoming ENS (Empty Nest Syndrome). ;)...
I hope the whole thing about hoping to be the first with a confirmed kill was some sort of sick joke. Sure I know the Army gets it's soldiers to try to get past the point of throwing up when killing someone, but that's a little too far.
Though I don't support the causes for the bullshit...
Greyfox, we in the US have pretty much one type of high school. We don't get placed in other type high schools ala German Gymansium (spelling?) or Realschule. I guess if you consider private schools a type of placement you could say we have different levels, but the average person, the bum...
