Yeah 9600 is a dx9 card... is it a 9600pro? if so it should play hl2 great with all the dx9 features.

I would think the most sensible solution is to wait till he attemps to purchase it and gets refused due to him not been old enough :) he then runs of to find mommy while i purchase the game. Simple easy and i dont have to spend the next 20years in prison.

MMmm leaning is ok.. but only if its done right.. i dont want to just see a head poking around a corner and me getting shot.. the actual gun has to be around it :). But as to if we know or not.. nothing has been confirmed in that regard and my opinion is that it is probably not in.

The 3 traditional settings would be good (easy normal hard) with the inclusion of a 4th extra hard (elite) setting with ridiculously low ammo and impossibley hard enemies just for fun :)

Ohh come on i think its a pretty novel way of moddeling :) with the ingenuity it took to come up with that im sure when he actually tries to create a proper model he will do well.

I find that 30fps is great in games such as ut2k3 ravenshield and bf1942. But in older games like halflife and even quake3 30fps sucks completely. Hopefully halflife2 will feel smooth as silk at 30-40fps like bf1942 does.

As in just about every singleplayer fps ive ever played i used my weakest weapons first :) and only used the stronger ones if i absolutely had to that and played on hardest difficulty i love making the game even more challenging.. just like playing ravenshield alone using pistols only on elite...

Im sure that the great guys at gamearena(telstras game service) will do there best to get some kind of steam mirror or atleast mirror the steam content but i guess it all depends on how feasible this is with however it is setup at valves end.

Dont think the gamesdepot one has been linked yet, that said all of these different *benchmarks* are essentially the same information and they all say they wont put there individual benchmarks up till friday so i guess we wait till then.

Its really quite simple, get the best you can afford (discount the top couple of models from both amd and intel as they will be huge price increase for little performance) amd's are cheaper and faster clock for clock but even then they cannot keep up with intels much higher clock rate on the...
