I wonder what video game has the record for most easter eggs....Hitman 2 has a whole shitload, more than most other games I've seen. The first Hitman has quite a few as well.
Are you people ****ing blind? The code was stolen BEFORE Valve announced the delay. Got that? BEFORE. Mens is just another attention whore trying to fool the community for the hell of it.
Two other people have mentioned this, but no one cared. Is it because you want it to be true, so you can...
The markings on the vehicles and soldiers look like Arabic (not arabic script, as in english, but the text you'd find in Saudi Arabia).
And people view communism as evil. It is, to an extent. It's evil and bad in the real world. As an idea, a concept, even as an ideology, it's a great idea...
Max Payne 2 is out in one week, and it utlizes the Havok 2.0 engine. If that's not releasing the physics code, I don't know what is.
I doubt Havok will sue Valve, especially considering MP2.
@spitcodfry: I saw a pic that says it was the Gordon model, but it was just a generic black and white human model. Maybe the HEV with a head on it, for shadows. I don't have the beta, so I'm not really sure.
Methinks forums need some sort of inflection and tone of voice code [goingdownsarcasm, IE]. I've arsed myself with this sort of stuff on forums today alone, and being up late doesn't help my interpretation much. I think it's time to call it a night.
When is it out, I've hear Q1 04 thru Q4 04....? This is the only game worthy of being referred to as an HL-2 killer, and its going to be a great fight between the two with such close release dates.
Sorry about that one Gavin, I was referring to ravenkil and the post sort of got off-track. It's 12:30 AM, cut me some slack :). I agree you made a good point, but no one really has any hard facts about anything.
Max Payne 2 will be out in a week, and that uses Havok 2.0....I'm guessing it wouldn't be too hard to decompile from that or the various Havok demos floating around the web. Hopefully they won't get too pissed.
I heard it's terribly short, and it's just a bunch of setpieces held together with wobbly transitions. The demo was alright, and the almighty IOI made it, so I'll probably pick it up sometime this winter.
And STALKER is definitely going to be a surprise hit.
Ah, there's no use trying to argue with a bunch of pre-adolescents. Who is to say that the stolen parts were final build? And even then, it's only about 1/3 of the full code. Critical parts, bugfixes, could be nestled safely on Gabe's hard drive, untouched by the hackers.
I can't wait for STALKER, the E3 trailer alone is incredible. The huge environments, the stealth gameplay, and the graphics (which are on HL-2 level if not slightly better. When the video goes from real footage to in-game, I didn't notice at first!).
Or better...Deus Ex 2 and Doom 3 in the late winter to early spring might justify a faster processor for me, my 1.6G just isn't cutting it lately. But me 512 PC-2100 and TI4600 are still alright. I'm thinking about swapping my ASUS for an nforce2 and getting an AMD Athlon XP 2800+
It will come out in November or December most likely, it's not that long of a wait. In the meantime, use your beefed up rig to enjoy Max Payne 2, Call of Duty, and UT2004!
EDIT: I'm not gay, I think the 2.5 gigs of lesbian pr0n I have should explain that. I just don't see why people are such...
