I believe you have that wrong. If I'm not mistaken, the entire point of vertical sync is to limit your FPS in order to keep the screen from flickering.
As for the FPS. I think that the console command "fps_max" limits the FPS in Half-Life. Just set that to whatever value you want to see...
I hope it's not integrated into the storyline. A training part of the game seems to ruin the mood at the start of the game. Plus there's the fact that most likely, you go through an intro sequence, then you'd get to the training part, and that would make it a lot harder to do Hazard Course...
I know I've heard other people talk about it, but some people thought that the boss of Opposing Force was the first of many "Resource Gatherers" that would be sent in to start gathering resources to continue the invasion past Black Mesa.
As for us being the "evil aliens" that also holds a lot...

4/14/2003 3:26 PM NothingMan: Is that an Ad for Half-Life 2 or something?
4/14/2003 3:26 PM M3wThr33: YES
4/14/2003 3:27 PM NothingMan: cool
Yeah, but if they don't put it in, someone else will, so either way we'll be getting multiplayer manipulator action...
And I would imagine that the car would block the shots just as the grate thing did in the traptown movie, and therefore, if you could see through the car, it would make it...
I'm fine with sprinting, as long as it's done well like in DoD.
As for my controller configuration, I use the arrow keys. I've tried switching to WASD, but I never seem to stick with it, I always revert back to the arrow keys. logically, it makes perfect sense to use the WASD keys, and I...
I can vouch for the "What the hell?" thing...
As for the life-cycle of the head crab, what we know of it,
headcrab -> zombie -> lvl 2 zombie -> ?
is only based on if the head crab goes after a human host. We never saw any evidence that they attacked Xen lifeforms, but it is entirely...
Black Ops Assassin, except for the unfortunate side-effect of becoming a girl, the agility, speed, accuracy and coolness of the suit (looks like Sam Fischer's...) would result in a very spiffy experience...
I agree!
Let's all go play opposing force!
But seriously, there's still a major chance that it is delayed. We're on thin ice right now, we might have just gotten a rope to pull us to the shore, but you know, that could be cut, or something... yeah, I have no idea where I'm going with...
I ruined a few games before this one, like Perfect Dark, with knowing too much about the game. Knowing about it isn't too bad, but when you know too much, it just ruins the discovery and experience of the game. It's like the equivalent of using a walk through, although not as bad.
Before...
72 gigs? Try 193+.
Valve is priding itself on scalability. And of course, everyone KNOWS that part of scalability is taking up 6.5 gigs of space. But this is Half-Life 2 we're talking about! Scalability taken to an extreme! We can all agree that Half-Life 2 looks about 300 times better...
I would guess that the barrel would get knocked out of the manipulator's grasp. I don't know a whole lot about the power of the manipulator, but logically it would seem that the force of the swinging beam would be stronger then that, and therefore overpower the grip of the manipulator.
