In the US you only pay sales tax when buying from the same state within the US. In most other countries sales tax is added regardless if you buy from within the country or mail order from abroad.
If you purchase an item while abroad, within the EU, you pay sales tax in that country and do not...
FYI, cyrillic is also used in Serbia, ex-Yugoslavia.
It has been stated as an "East European style" city. Soviet Union did occupy it's near neighbours sort of, so cyrrillic could be found in many east european countries also.

No. Vivendi are afraid that Steam will steal a buckload of money from Vivendi and therefore Vivendi is using HL1 licensing as a tool to forbid Valve from using Steam. It is 100 % about the future cash cow HL-2, do not think otherwise.
Machine specs will be interesting. I host Far Cry on an A64 3000+ with 512 MB. On 24 players, it runs fine, on 28 it starts to get jerky sometimes and with 32 players it's definitly laggy.
With Battlefield Vietnam, I can run 32 players without reaching 100 % CPU, so that is a much better...
The ATI and Valve booths at E3 showed two different versions of the same scenes. The striders behaved differently on the two movies that were available. I only kept the best movie on my ftp.
