Yeah, the numbering system is confusing unless you research the cards on a regular basis. Consider that ATI will be introducing their 6XXX series at the end of this year. In a couple years, they will have to come up with a different scheme, because they already had a 9XXX series.
I pulled the trigger on the 1gb version, upgrading from a 4890 (is this guy crazy?).
My real motivation is that I wanted a card with dedicated HDMI out along with 2 DVI. I'm currently running an HDMI splitter to split the signal from my PC to my 24" monitor and 46" HDTV. This really screws...
Be careful with what you do with those Droid Xs. Apparently, Motorola stuck a chip in it that verifies the bootloader. If this gets altered in any way, the chip will lock up your phone and only Motorola can fix it...
Macro keys and on-keyboard displays are functional, and mine get a lot of use. Feel of the keystrokes, texture of the keys, wrist fatigue, ease of cleaning, and durability are all the basic aspects you can consider when choosing a keyboard. $60 was a minimal investment for the amount of time...
Once again, Vegeta fails to understand that people are willing to part with their money for products that they enjoy owning/using. While you're at it, why spend over $10 when you can get one of these out of your parent's garage/attic:
I spent $60 on my G15 3 years ago, and it's macro keys...
Yeah, it's been mid-90s all week here in central NY, so thank god for A/C at home. Unfortunately, I work 10 hours a night in a lab that's had broken A/C since the beginning of June. It's been 84-88 in there for the past 2 weeks.
Oh, sorry, I was a little excited. I replaced the cheap X clamps the held the two heatsinks against the CPU and GPU with screws, and also switched out the thermal paste for something better. This allows for a solid contact between the processors and heatsinks, making for much better heat transfer.
$10 and 2 hours of work later, and it seems to be running without a hitch. No I didn't use the towel trick and no, I didn't buy one of those cheap repairs kits. All it took was some screws, washers, and some holes drilled in the right places. Here it is, happily naked:
Yes I realize...
If Blizzard is really going to implement this, I would much prefer if they just allowed you to click on someone's character in a post and see all the other characters associated with the account. Exposing people's real names is a pretty harsh privacy breach.
