2 nights to finish? you must have been playing it non stop :) The only game I've ever played on the hardest difficulty setting and managed to complete was Mafia (great game by the way!) but I'll give half-life a go on hard ;) does anyone know how the save feature is going to be implemented...

looks like im gonna be busy for the nxt couple of weeks then ;) think I should start straight away on highest difficulty? can you tell a big differance with AI between difficulty settings or is it like combine take more hits to kill/you lose more health etc?...

Do i need to download hi-res version with steam? oh and what is opposing force? just noticed this while on steam.

I bought halflife the day it first hit the shelves back in 98 but due to work, health probs and other games coming out I've never managed to finish it (got about a quarter of the way through.) :o Do you think I should start from scratch and play it even though graphics are, well... a bit...

I cant see valve releasing hl2 until they sort out steam, coz hl2 heavily depends on steam... so far steam is not working for alot of peeps so I for one, dont expect to see hl2 this month being released.... hope thats not the case though :x

30mb is alot to some peeps... not everyone has 3gb in their pc's!

yeah im sure you'd take that view if you had to d/l hl2 off the net and you were only getting 2 bytes a sec! hmm, well obviously I dont expect to d/l at 70kb a sec.. but 7kb is crap and constant freezes dont help either.... i think valve has released the alpha version by mistake!! I pity the...

Hmm after clicking on DOD (which I already had installed) and getting a 30 mins freeze, steam now says its updating DOD which will take approx 967mins (I'm on 1meg adsl) steam is working great... dunno what I'd do without it ;(

I'm sure valve has released the alpha version of steam by mistake :cheese: steam in theory is a really good idea... in practice... it's a steaming pile of shite!!......so far!

likewise... so far, steam (non beta) client seems like a steaming pile of shit... it's takin forever to play hl and it's downloadin stuff that i dont want it to (all mods/games are set at "do not update automatically" but nearly everything is) plus download speed is crap... im gettin 7k a sec...
