Oh my god....
Those are horrible buggy incorrectly rendered transparent planar shadows that were in the early builds, or first releases of HL. Good thing they were taken out too as they looked GOD AWFUL and didn't belong in the code.
There are certainly shadows in HL: Source, one billion...
LOL I had a dream where I was roaming city 17 and suddenly i saw a huge detailed purple guarantau with two purple detailed houndeyes with normal maps, dynamically casted fuzzy shadows and what not with one huge slimy green strider to complete the crew....very wierd....and I was holding the mp16...
I couldn't even get into safe mode without the computer rebooting cause of the boot screen so my only option was to repair xp off the disc....any ideas, i'm using home edition of winxp?
Well I don't think XP likes the replaced boot screen so I got my windows xp oem home disc, pressed enter to install xp, and pressed repair to repair windows xp so now everything's back to normal for me, but thanks for the link anyways.
OK, here are my system specs:

We'll see about the AI issues. Half-Life, Opposing Force, and Blue Shift all in one with the Source Engine and a variety of extra additions, improvements and more all built-in-one-game with an easy to use editor with a slick sleek interface would be awesome. What do you guys think? :bounce:
Yeah, Doom 3 & HL2 look great but were talking about why valve didn't include stencil shadows/per-pixel lighting(ppl in terms of point lights, spot lights, improved ambient lighting, etc) in HL2. :flame:
Yeah I have tenebrae for quake 1, it's very cool. It's a non-pro program tho and performs and is optimized quite poorly, although looks great thanks to the imported per-pixel lighting and stencil shadowing technology. :afro:
I would never pay nearly 80$ to sign up for the fileplanet gamespy crap to be able to download the full splinter cell for free, that would take longer and cost more than just heading to your local electronics store and buying splinter cell.
No all my desktop shortcuts are hidden in the folder on my desktop called "my shortcuts" and all the other little shortcuts are in my quick launch taskbar. ;)
The world will never end. Every world of reality of dimensions may or may not be real in their own way, who knows, the world could have ended yesterday and we could have just relived our lives. You never know! ;)
Very true. render-to-texture soft dx9 shadows blurred in pixel shader and faded with distance from caster, using shadowmaps and I think MP2 may use self-shadowing but I haven't played itmyself so.
