You hit the nail on the head. Pretty much every forum has its own dedicated community, and believe it or not, they really respect each other for the most part. This is because just about any user who's an asshole or a really noticably bad poster gets banned before they can really do any harm...
I dunno. Half of me thinks that it could be better because it's done independly, meaning that the people care, but the other half thinks that we may just have anohter Uwe Boll on our hands. Max Payne is the type of game that would either make a great movie, or a ridiculously shitty one. It all...
It's a totally different kind of fun. I mean yeah, if you take real guitar THAT seriously you probably won't have a good time, but that also probably indicates that you're a tightwad who shouldn't be playing games. Some of the best guitar players I know are absolutely in love with Guitar Hero.
I haven't really played BC, but I remember being pretty engrossed in WoW's story. Hell, even the smaller quests had some really well-written plot points.
I'm just ultra-bored of WoW now. It's hard to care about a game that's essentially just a loot-race now.
Wait, wait, it doesn't have a single-player mode? Goddamnit, that's what I was looking forward to!
Oh well, I'll still give this a shot when-and-if I fix my sound tonight.
Snake Eater is 100000000000x better than MGS2. Not that I think MGS2 "sucks," but it's easily the worst Metal Gear game.
Snake Eater, on the other hand, probably falls behind only StarCraft and Half-Life as my favorite game of all-time. It's that good.
Blizzard just rocks at storytelling. Ok, so the Diablo games aren't much to cheer at, but StarCraft and all of the WarCraft games have really, really engrossing and amazing stories. Even WoW, an MMO, has a story to it that I actually paid attention to when I played it.

Seriously, tell me any other forum where a guy can openly talk about sexing his cousin up, and have the topic turn into one big hilarious shitfest.
I swear that in one the SC games, one of the campaign's ended with some sort of news broadcast about how everything is destroyed. Am I just crazy?
Also, hey, maybe SC2 is a "prequel"
