If you liked the original Max Payne, MP2 is just so much better. The psyhsics, graphics, and storyline really make the game one of the best I've played in along time.
Yeah, 9.xx are only "revisions" of the DX9 core programming. More or less they're tweaks to the original design. Remember that DX8 only had DX8.1b or whatever, so I'd expect this to be the last update we see to DX9 until DX10 makes it debut in a few years.
Can't wait to see what DX10 cards...
How was the game "not ready for prime time"? Are you making assumptions based off of some random hacker on the internet?
Valve told us the game was NOT DONE when they announced the delay, which was the REASON for the delay. Do not think the game was ever completed before that point, or is...
I've heard this "beta" isn't really worth downloading and really isn't a great representation of the game (buggy, slow, incomplete, etc). A lot of people are whining about how the game runs without even remembering that this version isn't and never will be offical.
Yeah, I know, I'm just tired of all of the blatant ignorance that's been going around for the past few days. It's amazing how people make up the craziest stories when it comes to things they don't understand. I guess it's just human nature to seem all knowing or something.
Anyway, I'm gone...
When I told one of them in their IRC channel that I got a response from Gabe on the 3rd of October, they didn't believe me (I sent Gabe an e-mail saying that I was very disappointed about the code being released and that I know they'll get through this). I even sent one of the guys in their IRC...
The code is real, there's no doubt about that. Valve would not intentionally release their code, either, and perhaps face lawsuits from various companies. Also, a lot of the developers had internet access so they could work on Steam or read e-mail while programming.
This is in no way a hoax.
If you think anti-virus programs will catch all the viruses out there, then you obviously haven't been using the internet for that long. Ignorance is bliss, I guess.
I also wanted to comment here and say that I don't think Valve will be sued by Havok, and I don't think Valve will sue...
Well, it can be a bit more simple or complex then that. Since CPP files are essentially text files, they can be searched for certain strings or expressions. Or just filenames.
They're not "scare tactics." Go download one of the supposed "betas" and find out for your ****ing self. This is just a warning. Don't go blaming anyone else but yourself when your computer gets hacked.
