The thing thats getting peoples attention is the "avalanche" attack listed for the advisor. It eliminates the theory that its leftover old shit, because theres no snow in Ep.2 and back, and lots of snow in Ep.3.
It was truth spoken in jest. On top of that, people are always complaining that its been too long, or speculating that Valve has given up on the project. I suppose I could have made my own thread, but instead I chose to tuck it into this one being that it was mildly relative.
I read the thread. I get that he doesn't realize the game has yet to be released. I was responding to the people making comments like "More like Episode NEVER".
You guys need to have some faith. Clearly episode 3 is coming. Portal 2, not only takes place within the Half-life universe, but it had a direct reference to Black Mesa AND the whole Borealis thing. Sure, it's taken a little longer than the previous episodes did to come out, but that's...
...that Portal 2 will shed light on the much anticipated HL2: Ep3 as we've all been waiting for. I suspect this was their plan all along. Tell me it isn't like Valve to do something like that... use a game to make the announcement rather than an interview or press conference. It would also...
It would bother me if they went straight to HL3, because it would mean one of two things.
A) There's no HL2 closure.
B) HL2 and HL3 meld together into one game. Personally, I would prefer a time lapse to occur much like between Half-life and Half-life 2 for the third installment.
Is it worth the bother to pick up? I obviously already own the original Half-Life, so I'm wondering if Source is different enough to warrant buying.
Also, what about Black Mesa Source? I know it's not out yet, but what's the general consensus regarding that project around here?
What do you guys make of the scattered corpses found in Xen near the end of HL1? They appear to all be wearing the same hazard suit Gordon wears. My first thought was that they were dead Gordon's from other dimensions of time/space. What do you guys think?
