$1,500- what to do with it?

I'm from Mass too, what town do you live in?
Leominster- a small town near Worcester. It's the official birthplace of Johnny appleseed, and I live a stone's throw away from the town's last apple orchard. :D

Anyway, I think I've got a plan: I'm gonna upgrade my rig ($500), buy a new electric guitar ($250), get a couple of airsoft guns ($100), and save the rest ($650) or give it to charity. I also might pick up an Xbox 360 ($300?) if my parents don't pay for it. It's that or use it all for college.

By the way, how did you guys pay/ plan to pay for college? Is $1,500 enough to even make a difference?

Think about what you really like doing and buy something that is absolutely not in relation with it. It's called common sense.

Put it in a retirement account that earns at least 8% interest. Don't count on Social Security to be there for you when you get older.

I'd put it into a bank account. Preferably a savings account.

And earn 1.1% interest? You're better off investing it.

I was thinking about 5%... that's what my ISA interest rate is... I think :|

Kids that work minimum wage jobs or near minimum are the last people that should be donating to charity...
can you please explain the logical train of thought that made you come to that conclusion ?

Because people with minimum wage jobs are the underlings of society, and they should keep the money for themselves. They work really hard for it, and shouldn't just give it away.

he isnt paying any bills .. he isnt putting the food on the table ..he can afford to suport people that actually need it.
