what differences will you see in the 128mb and 256 mb 9800 pro? im just asking because i will be buying this card shortly

256mb versions will handle higher texture resolutions. I wish I had gone for the 256mb version, in retrospect.

Almost none, but wait for somebody with more knowhow to anwer your question. I have a 256 and my friend has a 128 and we don't see a lot of disperity in Doom 3 between out computers.

I heard 256-bit matters more.
That's why I already bought my PowerColor CP ATI Radeon 9800 PRO 128MB/256-bit.
And it's my birth-day today so I decided to get it today.

your not really gonna notice a difference with 256 mb memory. Maybe on games like Doom 3 at ultra high res n shit. Id just get the 128 mb and 256 bit interface and youll be fine and save some molah.

happy birthday, and great decision, you wont be dissapointed ;)

If it is a 9800 pro card, it will have 256bit memory, im sure. 256mb should definately be a benefit with newer games that are out.

not necessarily. your basically paying for lower quality [slower] ram. its like that in most cases, and with most brands.

Wrong. Some 9800 a few months ago came out with the crappy 128 bit memory. Make 100% sure that your crd is 256bit because apparently the 128 bit cards are significantly slower.

256MB will give you slight gains that will show more as you increase the resolution when AA/AF are enabled.
In my opinion, 256MB is generally not worth the extra cost since at normal playing resolutions they generally give you the exact same FPS.

Unless you can find a pretty good price on a 256MB 9800pro, I would put that money toward something for your PC or in the bank for another day.
