aw **** yeah pi gonna chinese dis shit up IN DA HOUSSEE

The thread subject was actually in Chinese, but I guess VBulletin doesn't like that.

Keep taking classes, especially if the teacher is actually good.

Unfortunately, that course has ended, and there's no higher-level ones available. However, I'm making extensive use of QQ (Chinese social networking/chat thingy) to converse with Chinese citizens every day. To be honest, I've learned more from that than I did from the course.

Machibai, wo ai ni

Edit: this is how I was taught to write it anyway. The most useful phrases I learnt on my travels.

If you're interested in improving your writing, look into Skritter.com. Ten minutes a day will change your life. I owe 1000 characters' worth of knowledge over 9 months thanks to it.

I surprise myself too. I just slept for 18.5 hours.

How do you say, "Ancient Chinese Secret" in Mandarin?

Good job, wish I kept up with my German, lost most of it from not speaking it for ages.

How long was the course for Pi?

According to Google (I can vet nearly the whole translation):

Zhongguó gudài de mìmì (vbulletin-offensive diacritic characters replaced)

Congrats. Always amazes me when people learn other languages. Something I've always sucked at.

It was a year long. 6 tutor-marked assignments, with a final reading/writing and speaking test (which I was convinced I'd failed)

Post up a youtube video of you speaking in Chinese.

Had you known any Chinese before you started?

Yeah this is all part of Pi's plan to steal Vegetas girlfriend. Come on Pi, Can't you let the boy have anything nice?

Chinese actually happens to be one of the languages I might get assigned after BMT.. that or Korean or Arabic.

But, I suppose a course like that is a lot different than learning it seven hours a day full time in a military setting with pay.
