22 year old guy having sex with a 16 year old girl

Hi. Long time reader, first time poster.

I found this in a fitness forum.

A guy, 22, wants to have sex with a girl who's 16. I'm the dad of a 1 year old daughter. I am worried about her enough as it is, but I cant think of how much I'd worry about this if this was my daughter. I'm angry about this guy doing this, am I right to be angry? What would you do if your daughter was in this situation?

I wouldn't say that it's automatically wrong, but I'm too lazy to look into the details. If he's attracted to her because she's so young, then there's a problem.

I wonder what people would say if the genders were reversed.
 
Divide by half, add 4... is that the minimum age generally?
 
Raise your child to know better, personally I know I'm to completely disapprove of sex before marriage, or at least teach'm that I do and that I consider it wrong.
 
I don; think it is right. He should be with chicks his own age.
 
I think for a 22 year old to be attracted to a 16 year old is not at all wrong (by that stage shes likely to have a womans body ie: tits and hips) but having sex with her would be unethical. The age gap is just too large. The amount of responsibility and life lessons you gain between those years is immense as such you could be taking advantage of her without even knowing it.

no .. that would make the minimum 15 , if thats the general rule then we're in for a world of trouble...

as was mentioned before the difference in maturity between the two ages suggests that this guy just has one thing on his mind which more or less makes him scum in my eyes . i mean sex is one thing but seeking out impressionable teens to obtain your jollies is just disgusting imo .

Same guy (apparently) was a long time reader, firt time poster at Steam forums with the exact same post, which has since been deleted.
 
The legal age to have sex there is at 16, and older guys have been screwing teenage girls for centuries up until now. If you're talking nature - she's fully able to, and is fully fertile, and law - she is legal age, then what he's doing is perfectly A-OKAY! But if you're talking social acceptance and morals, then no.

I dont think its about the age difference, but rather just how young she is. If she were my daughter, I wouldnt let her date him.

EDIT: after reading the link, im pretty sure this is a joke.
 
Personally, if he does it via age for shits....then nah, he can do better. If he actually feels a true connection with her, and she the same, and it's consentual. Then I say it's fine. Age shouldn't determine mental state.
 
Makes me laugh how people think the sixteen year old girl is a child that hasn't learned anything, and can be totally manipulated by someone older.

Nothing morally wrong about it, if it's consensual. By sixteen, anyone who isn't mentally handicapped can make decisions well enough.

They are her decisions nonetheless. It is (or in many cases should be) her right to have sex with whom she wants to.

Yeah, it's true that at sixteen, people may not make the decisions that are best for them, but to be honest, as long as they make good decisions (IE - Use protection ffs) what is the worst that could happen?

A consensual, careful relationship hasn't really got any major drawbacks - No risk of STI's, no unwanted pregnancy.

At the end of the day, if the girl is consensual, she's had a say in the matter and has had the opportunity to think about it. This, for me anyway, means there isn't a moral problem with the relationship.

I had sex with an 18 yo girl when I was 16. I had sex with a 20 yo girl when I was 17. I had the offer of sex from a 14 yo girl when I was 17 and denied her.

I live my life by these 3 rules.

Makes me laugh how a 15 year old thinks he knows everything but really has no idea how easy it is for a 22 year old to manipulate a 16 year old. You wont understand it right now but at 16 while it's true you are not a child anymore, you are also not a good judge of character.

Myself being 22 I can tell you right now the chances of a 22 year old guy totally using a 16 year old far outnumber the odds of him being genuine. I would have serious doubts about someone of that age dating someone that young. Using a condom doesn't protect you from psychological harm.

Psychological harm my ass, it's hardly a rape waiting to happen. If the girl consents to the action, how exactly is it going to cause her harm? Being pressured into something is different entirely, but then I'm not arguing about that am I?

Just because you think the odds of him being genuine are slim does not mean that his case is automatically the same.

Also, who do you think you are telling me I have no idea? Or that I (due to my age) am inherently a bad judge of character?
Being 16 makes me no more ignorant or easy to manipulate than being 22.

If i were him i would stick to 18 year olds.
 
Legally, It's totally and 100% fine. In the UK, anyway.

I didn't really care that it was a 16-year old, his blog creeped me out before I got that far. Seriously.

I scan the area for some attractive girls to warm up with. I spot one by the M·A·C Cosmetics booth.

I get her opinion on the cologne I’m wearing. She likes it but says I put on too much. I tell her that I get excited when I see something I like. I give her a wink. She smiles. I bid her farewell and find some more girls to warm up on.
