Two, were they REALLY that dumb to think "Hey! There's a war going on and the enemy doesn't know who's who! So I'll just starting shooting my gun in the air! Woohoo!"

time to "trim the heard" huh.

you know if we ate all the idiots it would solve 3 problems

Idiots
world hunger
Homeless problem (homeless would move into the idiots homes)

Ahh so the U.S did this in Afganistan as well.

It's culture. They're in their own damn country practicing their customs and the U.S come in and kill them all. The U.S a preacher of freedom, democracy and justice yet they go and kill, maim and torture....

The world is ****ed. Absolutely ****ed.

Wow, not to offend anyone but you must be pretty dumb to find enjoyment/entertainment to firing a gun into the air. It might just be tradition, which is ok I guess.

I find it enjoyable to fire rounds into the air. I try to predict how long till it comes back down and where it will hit if I'm really bored (safely of course).

It's fact, not opinion.

America invaded preaching freedom and democracy. Instead they invade, imprison innocent people , torture and humilate them, they kill innocent civillians willy nilly, show no respect or understanding of Iraqs customs.

It's a disgrace. Bush and his cronies should be put on trial for war crimes.

My flame detectors going crazy, Mr-fusion keep your head down :p
If you think about in no other wars (Iraq and afganistan) have we been keep informed by the media so well, so perhaps we're just discovering old news? And no there is no point to me saying that :p

Not only do you excuse the murderer .. but you blame the victim. Sick.

Incidents like this have happened so many times now it's stupid on the invader's part not to understand it yet.

you are just ****ed, absulutely ****ed, with warped views like that
It's fact, not opinion.
It is a fact indeed, but some people just deny the facts or don't know them.

Foxtrot, what's the corret view dude?? enlighten us a bit with a flow of your knowledge.

Didn't want to double post, but for some reason I can't edit my post??

New abuse photos have been released .. This time they are laughing and doing thumbs-up over the body of a dead iraqi.

Warning .. images are not that graphic, but they do contain a dead guy, and are disturbing.

Remember .. these photos are few monthes old.

there are 2 new discs full of photos that havent been released to the media yet...supposedly they're much worse

that first photo....that soldiers neck is a peculiar shade of red

LOL, isn't this from the same people who published the story about plants that grow meat.

look, they just released what WAS found on that site.
no wedding, lots of guns, fake IDs, sniper rifles, and a Sat phone.

yea, a "wedding"

lieing Iraqi pricks deserved what they got here. (Sans the women and children, who were prolly forced there by their idiotic husbands that want to kill some American Infidels)

*fires gun*

just out of curiosity...when you fire your gun in the air, do you immediately run for cover? that lead's gotta come down sometime.

k I'm going to resist hacking you to pieces but if you're going to refute the wedding story at least back it up with a link, some sort of evidence, anything but: "duh, dam dem lying Eye-raqs"

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/3732655.stm

doesn't sound very pleasant. taken on face value, it seems a horrible thing to have happened. but you never know, someone may be lying, but it's impossible to tell based on the knowledge we have.

A2597, i dunno what to say. you seem very upset about something. did you miss your tranquiliser injection this morning? relax and take a step back, read up on this stuff before you start throwing stuff like that around.

Or is there something else... tell us more A2597. Link! I can believe what you say but evidence ! :)

http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/05/20/iraq.attack/index.html
Kimmitt said Thursday that ground troops returned fire when they were fired upon, and found evidence to support their suspicions after the firefight.

"We picked up many weapons," Kimmitt said. "We picked up over 2 million Iraqi dinar. We picked up satellite communication devices. We picked up foreign passports. So, we believe that the target location was that of a foreign fighter sanctuary, and we took the appropriate obligatory actions as the coalition in the Iraqi security forces to ensure the people of Iraq stay safe."

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5013551/
Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt, deputy director of operations for the U.S.-led coalition in Iraq, told NBC News that coalition forces in the vicinity saw no signs of a wedding when they called in the air attack.

“I know the pictures are compelling, but they don’t mesh with what we saw on the ground,” he said.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,120436,00.html
Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt said the attack was launched after U.S. forces received "specific intelligence" about foreign fighters slipping into the country. "We sent a ground force in to the location," he told Associated Press Television News. "They were shot at. We returned fire."

U.S. soldiers recovered satellite communications gear, foreign passports and a large amount of Iraqi cash at the site, he said.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3732655.stm
"We are satisfied that the intelligence was validated by what we found on the ground," he told reporters in Baghdad.

"This is one of the routes we have watched for a long time as a place where foreign fighters and smugglers go."

He said US troops at the site of the attack found many guns, including AK47s and sniper rifles, Iraqi currency worth about $1,000, foreign passports and satellite communications equipment.

yes...a wedding party ALWAYS has AK47s, sniper rifles, and 2,000,000 worth of iraqi money.

I'm much more inclined to believe our own soldiers then the Iraqis, I'm sorry. That area is known for letting fighters slip between Iran and Iraq, and they were justified in this attack. I wouldn't be at all surprised if those photos were actually taken from before the war, or from another area of iraq, just trying to make our forces look bad and encurage other "freedom fighters" to attack coalition forces.

well hey, way to be selective with your sources. how about a little bit from the other side of the story? who said the sniper rifles and money were linked to the wedding? maybe it was kept there by someone else and was completely unrelated.

you're inclined to believe the evidence of these soldiers, even before you'll consider the other side. amazing.

please tell us more.

oh, and because someone is going to nail me on the $1000USD/2,000,000 Iraqi funds...
http://www.xe.com/ucc/full.shtml do the math yourself.

as to why I'm so pissed?

News media today focuses SOLELY on the "atrocities" our boys in the field commit, and glaze over the deaths of our forces.

they ignore all the GOOD things we have done there, restoring power, getting the oil feilds running, getting an Iraqi army and police force running, protecting citizens from militants.

and focus on a few abused prisoners, the dead civilians that die in battles between iraqi miliants and coalition forces, always slanting it to seem that it is OUR fault they are dead, when it's really the fault of the Iraqi militants that want to kill some americans.

they talked about a BEHEADING for less then TWO DAYS, and have focused on a few abused prisoners for WEEKS now.

THAT is why I am mad.

never ever use foxnews as a source of evidence...remember this crap?:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,82923,00.html

also the BBC and cnn articles present both sides...sorry on this one I tend to believe the iraqi's...the coalition doesnt exactly have the best record when it comes to telling the truth.

Kimmit is a lier
Al-Jazeera was airing live airstrikes on Falluja during the truce, then few moments later they interviewed Kimmit, and all he said was "your correspondent is broadcasting lies and propaganda".

The correspondent wasn't talking ... the camera was broadcasting live action.

:: edit ::

they ignore all the GOOD things we have done there, restoring power, getting the oil feilds running, getting an Iraqi army and police force running, protecting citizens from militants.
rofl .. none of that happened.

just a little example, some of my relatives still don't have phones because the americans bombed the communication stations a year ago and didn't fix it yet .. electiricity is worse than how it was before the war..

protectiong the citizens?!?!? rofl, they are KILLING the ciitizens themselves.

oh, and I"M being selective with my sources? You have to dig to get that info.

I ask you, WHY was there so much money, so many weapons, in a "peacful" village having a "wedding party".

that does not mesh AT ALL.

why would this peaceful village fire on US troops, to the point air support had to be called in.

if your upset about the bombing, consider this.
If THEY hadn't shot at the US ground forces, there wouldn't have BEEN a bombing!

next time there's a wedding at your place, we'll drop by in a few choppers and shoot the place up a bit. we'll cite your dad's shotgun and the large wad of cash (given as wedding blessings) as the reason behind the attack. [/sarcasm]

anyway, we won't find out what really happened, so it's just speculation from here on out. you just need to consider both sides instead of blindly and quite stupidly only believing one side of the story.

Nah it makes sense to me, You dont just airstrike something for no reason. It all seems to fit.
News media today focuses SOLELY on the "atrocities" our boys in the field commit, and glaze over the deaths of our forces
Well, they tend to focus that which shocks the viewers since it gets ratings up. Such as before the photos they tended to report solely on " soldiers have been killed" and on all sorts of good things that they have done. And now its "solidiers torture iraqis" and they give stories about all the bad stuff they have done after that. To go along with the general feeling for the public at the time. Your right its sickening that the media puts ratings before the "truth" (not saying they lie but, rather dont tell the story correctly)

to be fair, they've got danger from every angle, so they're likely to be trigger happy. doesn't excuse the needless waste though.

Did you read any of the information?

THEY FIRED FIRST.
and seriously? 2 MILLION DOLLERS in wedding gifts CASH?!? that doesn't seem the least bit high to you?

and a single shotgun is alot different then numerous AK47's and SNIPER RIFLES.

c'mon man, your just being dence if you think that stuff points to a wedding party.

no one ever said the sniper rifles and the wedding were related. read my example above. the shotgun in your theoretical wedding had nothing to do with the actual wedding. right? likewise, in all likelyhood the sniper rifles had nothing to do with the wedding. but i could be wrong.

iraq and the middle east is an oil rich country. are you ruling out the idea that at least one person attending the wedding was filthy rich? how can you know?

anyway, carry on...

^Hehe argueing from lack of evidence weak arguement :p, wow I learned something from general studies :O

you're logic is extremely flawed...it's not 2 million dollars, it's 2 million dinars

which is about $1000 US, not all that much money at a wedding

Are you going to sit back and watch it rot, or try to do something about it?

Sorry, guys, but I hear lots of complaints about the world being bad and such, but I don't see an equal amount of people saying they're going to do something about it. They want someone else to do it. This isn't directed at
the forum, it's directed at all of us.

People bitch and moan and never do anything. It's like electing the President, people bitch and moan; But when you ask them if they vote they say "no". I don't know you, I won't pretend that I do. All I'm saying is it's something I see in people all the time. People state the world is 'f*cked. absolutely f*cked.' just as you have, but nothing comes of their complaints.

Chances are the military was more informed then them, they probably shot at the helicopter etc. then after investigating they said oh its a wedding knowing fullwell the military would want to be compromising with their idiot culture (shutup its my opinion) and found out they weren't so they smoked em, ooh rah.

-edit didn't see this had been updated, hah, i'm right again

your not thinking of money conversions correctly...

we are all millionairs if we go to Iraq, we would live the high life, in our finacial outlook, things are dirt cheap over there.

$1000 is an insane amount of money over there. The amount of "never work again" kinda money.

and you're pulling this out of...thin air? an average salary is about $300 US a month. So in other words if I worked for 3 and half months in iraq I'd never have to work again?

Yeh GV the people who do something about it are in the army or terrorists. Not a good option. Although I have plans ahead of me myself to do something....depending on how things go :)

the average person cannot do anything to change the world. they're too small. whatever we say, we'll always be forgotten. the people who change things are those in power. it's a big reason why democracy is a big shambles. we always seem to be choosing the lesser of two evils. never choosing the option we want for ourselves. and the crazy part is we can't do anything to change it, because the systems is designed to favour those already in power, or those privelaged enough to have enough money to get into power.

so yeah, the army is a start, but us average john smiths, not a chance in hell of changing anything.
