Agreed, I think the jiggly camera work was very effectively used there.

But holy shit, if the rest of the film has that kind of tension and urgency, I think they might have actually pulled it off!

I agree with 6Three and gick - the shaky cam was made the action scenes in 28 Days so frantic. It fits perfectly alongside the fact that the rage-infected humans are so pumped up on adrenaline. I love it.

Erm, how? We just saw 5 minutes of people in one set (a house then a barn, I think?) with approx 20 people on set. Have you not seen the trailers? Deserted London streets and then also streets filled with US Army equipment and vehicles... ?

But either way, I loved the way 28 Days was shot, and if you ask me this looks like it might go abit to big budget by the looks of the end of the trailers where all hell was breaking lose.

It's all about the atmosphere of the movie, I guess some people just let that part of 28 Days go right over their heads.

Empire gave it 4 stars, says its enough like the original to have the same kind of feel and tone, but not so much that it is like a remake.

Also, someone in the Guardian said it was 'the most intense horror movie [he had] seen in years.....it felt like getting beaten up for 90 minutes' I saw the director's first movie, Intacto, and it is very very good too.

I'm in such a good mood now, they didnt **** up the sequel to one of my favourite movies!

Yeah I know what you mean, I loved the desolate almost surreal feel of London in the first movie, and the atmosphere throughout the flick was great.

Also the "low budget look" isn't such a bad idea, I mean the first film and Children of Men for instance had a realistic and gritty feel to them specifically because they didn't fall for the generic big budget Hollywood bandwagon with all sorts of colorful filters and CGI cramped in a movie just for the heck of it. This fad recently with colorful CGI really makes me sick, I wish they would get it through their thick sculls that it doesn't look artistic at all it just makes the movie look like crap

Exactly. 28 Days actually felt like I was inside of someones head, following them around the city, with the survivors, fighting the infected... and then when the cameras switched to the view of the infected charging someone down it actually looked like the kind of footage you would get if you went outside with a camera and ran full pelt down the street.

Besides sucky audio (this is a youtube video...), how is the camera work terrible? Jiggly cam has worked in plenty of films. It brings tension and adds to the atmosphere. And low budget movie? Its a farm house somewhere. I'm sorry there isn't any CGI for you to look at.

I <3 28DL too and I watched it and it shows nothing really about the story (Just some people getting mauled by zombies), I didn't see any main characters (Like Rose Byrne) and it was confined.

I'd say it wouldn't spoil anything -- I've watched the other trailers which are a min or so long and they seem to show 100x as much.

Comes out this thurs doesn't it ? I need to find some people who will want to watch it as most of my friends don't seem to care for movies like this, noobs -- their movies taste sucks in general anyway.

If you ignore everything that made 28 Days, this film is a ****ing awesome watch. To me, it felt like the transaction between 'Alien' to 'Aliens' - a horror film to an action film, although 28 Days was more a... well, I don't know. You get what I mean.

Anyway, brilliant film.

I loved how every character that was built to be a main character was killed off. Wasn't expecting Carlyle to be part of the infected so early! And the sniper had a pretty tragic death, aswell as the doctor having a proper in your face (literally) blunt death. Fantastic.

Killer soundtrack as usual, some great effects, few scares here n' there, a ridiculous amount of gore but all in all, entertaining as hell.

Uh I felt the movie was horrible.

It started off good and progressively got worse. Had none of the soul or character of the previous movie, and way too many convenient moments.

28 days later is a movie the more I think about it, the better I feel was.

28 weeks later is a movie the more I think about, the more stupid I think it is.

Now while I have kinda doomed and gloomed it, I will say that it is an entertaining movie, and had it been unattached to 28 days later I'd of enjoyed it more.

Trust me, Children of Men is about the opposite of low-budge handy cam movie. A lot of money, time, and extreme care went into making each scene look like a damp, cloudy afternoon. Also, those long shots that look so natural probably had about 5 or 6 guys on one camera, following a specific track, with more artificial camera shake added later.

And not that I care, because 28 weeks looks mega retarded, but antipop, you need to fix your spoiler tag for those who do wish to see this movie.
