Since I seem to be one of the handfull on this forum that listen to rap occassionally Ill see if I can help clarify.

I've never understood the relation between being a "gangsta" and making that sort of music.

Well they are usually ex-criminals who can't sing, play instruments, dance, play ball, or act, but are intelligent enough to make words ryme, and have a story to tell. This is thier ticket to lots of money, and out of jail.

Its popular because we don't hardly have any good electronic music in america. thats like the only option, trance, electronic, etc., hasn't caught on yet except in small circles

actually... i think they are badasses. None of them had money for a long time. I dont think u can make that statement without having a credible resource to back it up.

Imagine living in the streets of Queens growing up. There was a lot of shitty stuff that they had to witness and a lot of dirt that theyve been in. Tony Yayo sold drugs (could u tell by the name), and to say 50 hasnt been able to function is just wrong.

Anybody who can be shot nine times, stabbed (and drove himself to the hospital), and sells 11 million copies of his debut album, deserves the title of "badass" and deserves that custom DS

Dude... First of all. Even if it was Eminem's, it'd still be sad. I don't hate everything. I hate phonies. This guy is a phoney. He is a studio gangster, and even I can get nine bullet holes in myself if I took a walk in a bad part of town.
