92 Yr old woman shot by police

Hard to say, she did hit 3 officers. Dunno, I guess I'd have to be there to really put my opinion in.

no offense but this thread seems kinda like baiting ....I mean the tazer incident obviously calls into question the conduct of the officers involved so this thread could be interpreted to mean "sometimes police dont have a choice" in response to the tazer incident ..the news item clearly says the woman fired first ..so in essence this thread is needless because there is no controversy (except her age)

Not meant to be in any way connected with the tazer thread....just thought it was worth mentioning.

What could have been goin through her mind though, besides rust.....

Well it clearly says that they were in plain clothes and kicked the womans door down.
Maybe she thought it was a home invasion.

Its not alot to go on though, it needs follow up before you can say one way or the other, as to the rights and wrongs of it.

I would hope that they were wearing raid vests with highly visible police markings on them. If not, then they need to seriously rethink the way they execute search warrants.

This old lady has some damn good aim if she can hit 3 trained officers before getting shot herself.

I won't say that the return fire was unjustified. They were, after all, fired upon. But with the way the search was conducted - plain clothes, door kicking, in a bad neighborhood - I can't help but think that this was avoidable.

Killer Granny! :p lol
Whatever she might be thinking doesnt matter, she shot several cops :p I'd still vouch them shooting her in the leg or something, instead of killing her, but hey, easy for me to say, i've never been shot, so perhaps the cops acted correct and this is just unfortunate.

If all of that is true, I wholeheartedly agree with you.

Who cares if she was 92 or a woman? Would this be an issue if it was a young male thug?

To me the issue is not her age or gender. It's the tactics used, or apparently used. It's just plain stupid for a bunch of guys wearing plainclothes with no identifiable police markings to try to execute a search warrant, if that is indeed the case here. You're asking for something like this to happen.
