I would have joined you all on the flame valve threads but i luckaly was tierd and had time to sleep on it. I dont know how and i dont know why, but i had a dream... I had a dream i was gabe.....

Imagine guys just for a sec the pressure they are under. If i where them i sure as hell would have done everything i could to get that junk file out the door. Their has to be a good reason for this.... What if someone in their familiy died? Brakein? anything?

How about they tell the absolute HONEST truth. Your the head of a multimillion doller company, grow a set and tell the truth. If you missed something for a reason, just say "Hey guys we had a problem with *whatever* and couldn't have forseen it, we are sorry to keep you waiting and it should hopefully start pre-loading such a date. We will keep you posted"

I second that. I have zero problem with delays as it will only make the game better in the end, and have no problem with missed dates. But, I wish things were made a bit more clearly as to how and why things happened.

I wish they simply wouldn't say a thing until things are abolutely 100% in the bag.

So what happens when iD delay their games, no one flames them, because they are a company which brings out games when they like to and never set a firm date, but wait, iD are their own publishers and so dont have to set a date, and when they do and then delay it, the fans go, thats ok, because its done when its done....

But Valve dont have that luxury do they, they ahve a publisher to meet deadlines, and th epublisher wants deadlines so they can get ready and so the publisher states the deadlines, even tho the developers dont want to bring out games before they are done. If Valve had iDs motto, absolutly no one would be flaming them would they, but just because they did set a deadline because of obligations to their publishers they get flamed for it. If it produces a game at the end which will be the best FPS of all time, then ill say that was a good wait, but i wont flame until after ive played it myself to see if was a good wait...

But of course flame away, since u know they delayed it because they wanted to annoy u, but again let me remind u, Valve want to make the best they can, but the publisher wants dates and so will keep bugging them, and so they give a date which best estimates the completion date, iD on the other hand dont have to, because they pay out of their own pockets and publish out of their own pockets. If u want to flame anyone, blame the publisher, they are the ones who ask for the dates when developers dont want to give one.

It's later than expected but now ppl have a firm date, yay!
Also VALVe KNOW they can finish it WAY before then, allowing the extra time to tweak and play it through.
