And our Swedish foreign minister has been murdered, she died this morning. So its twice the sorrow. And they skipped Simpsons to show memorial programs, dang, that really broke me down in tears ;(
Yep, its a sorry world we live in, isnt it... But, since the topic is active in the forum, you forgot smoking. Kills MILLIONS every year, no one cares. And oddly enough, its on our own turf, it isnt some starving child no one knows exist.Originally posted by mrBadger
Well, obviously you thought something differently to the majority.
I have a feeling that I'm gonna get the tiniest bit toasted for this:
Right. America, bombed. By terrorists. Got that? This event deserves commemoration, and respect for those who died in this evil act. However. Mass genocide? In many small and poverty-ridden countries. It happens. Persecution of a entire race of people, throughout the centuries. The holocaust, arguably the most evil act in historic memory. When do we get a minute of silence for the farmers killed in Zimbabwe? When do we get a minute of silence for the poor children dying in agony in the 3rd world? I would gladly give two minutes of my day for the WTC victims, and they deserve peace now. But I want recognition for all human lives that are lost during so-called 'political processes' (e.g. Mugabe's elections, Rowandan massacres) since the loss of every man woman and child is felt by someone somewhere. Rest in peace. All of you.

Just becasue they're are 12 year olds at the forums doesn't mean that they can't appriciate the silence. I'm at school that the teachers may call upon their students to have a minute of silence. I know my previous Elemtary school had oneOriginally posted by crabcakes66
