I take it thats the reason you asked what graphics cards are available for under £70?

So which one did you decide to buy?

I've finally got a new money for a 6600GT, which I'll be buying next week sometime

yep :) im goin for a Radeon 9800. its affordable. and i think itll do.

i COULD risk it and get a 2nd hand card. for the same price but better... that 6600GT sounds good :)

Generals beats the crap out of this game.
Hands down.
The interface is extremely clunky and cluttered...
The pathfinding is horrible...
I could go on forever.

I think it is a great game, the multiplayer is not ultimate but it is still decent.

I prefered this to Generals. It has much of a "Realistic war" feeling to it. Tanks cannot shrug off explosions easily and it only takes 2/3 shots (Or with some weapons one). Infantry are useful when used correctly, not to mention evacuating the wounded.
(If foot-soldiers get into the red portion of their health they become incapable of fighting allowing the enemy to capture them and use them for resources. This also applies to the armoured vehicles. A tank in red cannot fire and moves very slowly. And when they blow up they usually leave a crew that can be returned to base for money or captured by the enemy.) Plus it has all the graphical things that many RTS's lack. That and, it has FMV, everywhere.

And the story beats the pants of almost anything out there. Yes, including Generals. Although I will admit, a lot of the time it does feel like Generals with knobs on.

-EDIT- Not to mention the US Army side in Act Of War is similar to the US army in BF2 in certain ways -EDIT*

They were both good games. Each with different goods and bads. Problem is you wont be able to find a mp game. Theirs bearly any people playing. Some parts of the day its game after game, others its wait 20 mins for a game. :/

Act of war is shitty. im a die hard patriot and i think the game has a terrible story. its a C film, its uses live action, over played cliches, and shitty acting to combine 40 minutes of "move your troops here"

a lot of mixed opinions there.
thanks for the replies. ill try the demo when i upgrade.
I was dissapionted with generals. it wasnt as fun as the previous C&C games.

Thats what I could say about the entire C&C titles

Whatever, at least it attempts to include real actors and FMV in a game. Something that more Games should do. Because frankly, people are all to concerned about having "in game" cutscenes.

I mean imagine a Film Noir game where the cutscenes had actors made to look like the game (A la Sin City or something)

That would be so much cooler.

I liked the game loads better then generals, but the aow multiplayer is as sad as a orphan being tossed in a furnace so I threw the game away.
