Basically for the end of my third year in university i can negotiate rather than do a short film, do a small conversion for half life 2.

Basically, I would create all the art and just have standard fare of two teams either dm style or cs style, create one map, all the weapons, character models, props and animations in around 7 months, this is not a topic about whether I can do that in 7 months, I know I can and to a high standard.

What the advice i need is for is the coding aspect of a mod:
What i was wondering is this difficult to acheive from a coding perspective, since the code aspect is not being marked, should I get a coder to help me would a coder even consider helping me.

Overall the main project goal is to produce a piece of highly polished eye candy so I can break into the game industry at entry level and get my degree. Should i however try to make the game fun in terms of coding etc but im not being marked on this aspect of the project?

any advice appreciated.

it couldnt hurt to make it extra fun, but i would say using the deathmatch code should be fine. maybe some minor alterations like weapon tweaks/clones.
