so far it's only for pre-orders (some best buys extended the pre-order offer after release) but they said the general public would be allowed to purchase one as they're essential to seiges

it's a little slow, horses are much faster, better turning circle and I'm guessing more effective in battle ..the noise it makes and the stomping around are really cool but as a long distance traveling thingy it's kinda of slow, about as fast as on foot. I'll still keep the rhino when I get a horse, it'll be useful in seiges for battering down walls

and it doesnt matter when you join, i see different lvls all the time ..from 20 to 80 in every area (except dungeons) ..people are still getting cofortable with classes so they're playing multiple characters
 
I would love to get involved in it and play with you guys... but I can't buy the game, can't afford the subscription, and need to focus instead on more important things like my GED studies which are hard enough to concentrate on. Seriously I think I need concentration pills.

I just buy gamecards ..$29 for 2 months is a bargain imo ...but you're right you should concentrate on studying ...so when the time comes I'll know not to give you my free invite that everyone who bought the game got :E

about an hour ..you still have to do updates after the initial install but it's isnt that time consuming
 
Apparently I ****ed up the installation badly, and I need to reinstall. (Who knew some fishy process was part of the installation?)

I need a credit card anyway, so I'll have to wait a while to get one.

I just started an assassin a few days ago and really love it... it's by far the best pvp class I've played yet which makes me have 120 kills or so for my approximently 40 deaths.

Already up to lvl 44 so we should quest together sternn... already added you to friends, the name is "Labyrinth".
 
Is the game in a more feature complete phase? At the time of me quitting much of the game wasn't even ready; zones were empty and relied on repetitive do-over kill quests. Not to mention the siege style PVP was entirely too buggy and laggy to even compete in. Any word on these features being implemented?
 
You see more people in zones, but they still haven't done shit.

I cancelled three days ago right before they billed me again for another month.

Sieging as it stands is not fun and it's not what they advertised. 48vs48 with numerous ways of exploiting and breaking the balance of players in your favor when you're defending, and the countless bugs make it a frustrating experience.

PVE raiding is a joke, when you have to adjust your strats every week because they have no idea how to fix broken encounters so they keep "fixing" stuff on the fly. Vistrix is probably the only reliable encounter so far, Yakhmar... who knows when they'll get around to fixing that, no word on the test server forums yet. Kylliki does different shit every patch.

And Black Ring Citadel is simply not ready, there are people on Tyranny who have had their full tier 2 sets for over 2 weeks now just by 3 manning the entire instance. Jump through walls, jump inside pillars, and there you go; you can attack the boss and it can't hit back.

World PVP is retarded when 1/4 of the classes have an ability to one shot you. Air combos, gem stacking, and exploits are rampant.

The economy is ****ed up since people have been farming epic FOTD to get 6-8g per hour. Blues are worthless, and epics aren't even better than blues as it stands for boe gear. You can still sell gems like everyone else, or lose your mind farming nodes.

The PVE guild city is nothing more than a massive time sink as it serves no purpose. The buffs the buildings give are so irrelevant, it's not even worth the effort to build the rest of the T3 buildings once you get your T3 keep. You can't really visit another's guild city, and why would you? there's nothing to do there. And they all look the same.

I got my t1 set, my epic mount, did more than my share of farming for the guild city, did pve and pvp raids, tried everything the game has to offer and I'm thoroughly disappointed. This game has a lot of potential but it seems Funcom is too slow to fix stuff.

Yeah, I've never been one to go for the endgame content.

The ride up to 80 and stuff along the way is all I go for, and it's pretty fun in this game.

Aren't they supposed to have the servers down right now for the update?
 
wow gunner, and I thought I was taking it seriously...

I'd agree with stern on this one, it sounds like you're playing a different game altogether. I haven't got to 80 yet on any characters and it will probably be awhile till I do since I have little motivation to play my bear shaman much more.

I'm not saying the endgame is done by any means but then again it's only been almost 2 months I think and most of the game's population isn't at end game anyways.

The planned update for tomorrow (Wednesday) has been postponed until further notice for additional testing. The current plan is to shoot for the update on Thursday, July 31st after additional testing has been completed.

While we are working hard to try and be able to update the live servers on Thursday, it is more important that the update is tested and that we are happy with its state for a release to live. If we cannot test the remaining features fully over the course of tomorrow, we may hold the update over to the following week.

We will provide more information on the update postponement as soon as it becomes available.

It's been f*cking long enough to wait for a PVP system. Funcom is pretty pathetic when it comes to patching.
 
near the end of beta there were patches almost every hour ..I kept getting knocked out as they'd put in the latest patch

you could always jump on the patch testing server

Many items are now 'bind on equip' meaning that once equipped the item can no longer be traded.

at what point does it start to be worthwhile?

LVL 40, it's pointless, playing an MMO to craft is also pointless.

I think I'll be playing more EVE than this until they fix the PVP.
 
It's really pretty pathetic how unready they were to launch it and now how slow they are to implement all the should-be features. Classic mmo fail.
 
It's been dying for quite a while now. I sold my account about 3 weeks after launch for profit while I was still able to.
