Age of Empires 3

It looks like train lines are for trade. Say bye bye to those donkeys.

Ycan't notice the different from 60fps to 20fps in an RTS. The only reason you can in an FPS is becuase you are moving in a 3d world. In an RTS game everything is already set out for you.

There are many different combinations they could use to have more than 10 groups.

Like in NWN, in the quick skill bar @ the bottom, you can hold alt, or ctrl and have access to 3 times as many.

They could do something like that.

^ omg, it's monkey island!

But it still wont be the same, in combat they will spread out like insane and any attempt at keeping any sort of formation would be useless.

You've played the game, have you? They've already said that formations will play a much more vital role in AoE3 than they did in the other games. Don't start writing it off until you know more about it first, okay?

I just assumed that the soliders would act like in previous AoE games.

And the cool thing is that unlike C&C generals aom worked on a 700 mhz machine with tnt2, and in its full glory looked afr better than c&c genrals, and that means that this games is going to look and play good even on my machines

Gona go a lil off topic :p

Becouse it looked like that in the screenshots, and AoK made single soliders act really well.

Yep, too bad the graphics suck now :(

I want them to remake it. I just loved launching missile attacks with those missile frigets... and the MODS!!!11 did you ever try the mods?

Hmm... looks more like a fanart to me. But AOE is going to be cool!!!

Oh hell yes. My friend used to make models for many of those mods. AndyPandy was his screen name.

I used to play CS with him and occasionaly people would ask whether he was "the" andypandy

Haven't read much of the other posts in this thread. All I will say is that the graphics in that screenshot could very easily be gameplay graphics. HOWEVER, all the little social tidbits of the placement of apparent 'npcs' is completely added to make a realistic image. Whereas in the game, it's likely to be far more barren, with buildings, and crucial units, without the fishermen, or the women wandering the streets, etc.

That's my take on it.

And damn, they could sure tone down the brightness effects in that image. Tooooo bright.

I loved AoE 1 and 2. However if they are going for an Elizabethan era game then I don't think I will enjoy it as much as I would like. For some reason I despise war and history starting from the renaissance and going until the start of WW1. I have no idea why but it it is just not a very appealing time zone for me.

EDIT: I don't see why it can't be an ingame screen shot. None of that is unrealistic in what current graphics engines can do, plus I suspect it just looks weird because of the camera angle.

I'm the exact same way. I love all warfare and warfare weaponry from the ancient world, to the end of the medieval ages, where everything then on I hate until world war 1. Everything after that is good. I just can't get into the whole renaissance thing, or even the american civil war!
