Anyone airsoft? I am looking to get into it and would like some opinions on which gun to get.

I play it casually, not leet enough to have any purchase suggestions though...

buy a spring pistol if you just wanna get a casual thing.. if you lik ethat, buy a gas powered pistol or an AEG.

im looking into getting an AEG. I am looking at Tokyo Marui MP5;s

yea the mp5 is nice, but isnt that accurate.

if u want an mp5 i suggest the CA MP5a2, pretty nice, and full metal body.

TM is the best brand to get if you are looking at AEG's, get a sling and all that crap too.

All the tm aeg's are practically identical, the only difference is barrel length. The longer the barrel the higher the accuracy.

That's good, they're all reliable and such... you can always buy TM without taking any risks.

I personally hate CA for their cheap products; the internals are very bad and the metal is usually below average quality.

Yeah, you'll want a bullpup-design for the best accuracy.

Hmm yeah I really want to start airsofting... once my friends can afford it we're gonna go :) it's something I'd like to take up but there's nowhere to play near me :hmph:

I had an airsoft desert eagle, was very powerful... but one day I fired it and the back end exploded, couldn't put it back together :(

Perhaps, too powerful?

o_O

Always remember, kids:

-Don't buy cheap airsoft stuff, you get what you pay for
-Don't use too strong gas for gasguns :hmph:

uh have u owned a NV CA gun? i speak from personal experience as i have a tm AK with a 520fps FTK, and a stock nvCA mp5. STOCK vs STOCK the CA is better than the TM * well in my opinion*. also the stock CA shoots at 360fps compared to 280 from TM. have u guys seen those CA armalites? man those are sicc.

CA USED to have bad qc which cause a bunch with crappy internals, but wasnt that like 4 years ago? i dunno i been playing airsoft for about 7 years, and since the nv's came out CA has been doing alot better than before.

Well, I've had LOPs from both the QOE and the FBI, but I haven't got one yet from the CIA, but I did get a PR from them, which is almost as good as an LOP, and better than a SITM or a PITEWASS.

Oh, and I go an OL from GN at V.

Sorry, bizzy, dude, but the seventeen or eighteen abbreviations in your post set me off. Couldn't help myself.

Uhm, bizzy: sure the CAs are a bit more powerful, but what do you need that for? If you're a good player and all the others have about the same armament there's no problem with ~40fps less strong guns.

And true, the CAs have improved... (the first M4 were real bs) ... but still, even the new M15 series have massive problems: bad internals, bad externals (compare the CA metal bodies to HurricanE or G&P, if you have the opportunity) -> CA has no quality control. TM's like the Kalashnikov of airsoft :) they just work out of the box.

yea i would say TM is usually built better, but our crew members have a few of the newer CA's and they work with no problems.

Hmm... well... most of the more experienced players here now have problems with their CAs and are going back to TM/custom upgraded ASGs. Maybe the requirements are somehow different :)

I purchased a Tokyo Marui SIG 552 commando electric airsoft gun a year ago. Funny thing is, there are no airsoft fields where I live here in texas, and its illegal in my town to use one outside even in my own, fenced backyard. Heh.

Great review there.

Guess what... I can't use my ASGs outside my home either, plus fully automatics are forbidden. I have to play in Denmark, Belgium, France, Austria or so.

Wow, you have to go to a whole new country? Crazy. But then again, I guess it is Germany. While I hate guns and pro gun laws for the most part(unlike many who share my political views), i have always found many of germany's game laws weird, and I think that gun law on airsoft kind of stems from that in a way. Since its considered a game with violence against other people.

Well... the problem here is, that ASGs are not seperatedly mentioned in the laws and thus regarded as so called 'free weapons' (just like CO2-weapons and blank firers) - which just aren't allowed to be fully automatic :( ...and about the gaming... it's not really forbidden... but very disliked by the people (...that's just the germans I guess... -_-) - paintballers had to really fight for their right to play in pink/blue/yellow outfits legally. Now imagine some US-Army- or Bundeswehr-like dressed people with assault rifles showing up in a forrest... :D anyone would call the police... which has no idea about the whole airsoft thing by the way, argh, nobody here seems to be informed about anything!
