So I tried for this achievement today, but I failed. I used only pistols. But then I started thinking, does using molotovs and pipe bombs get in the way of this achievement?

Did you use the minigun? If not, then yes.

Not only can you not use the minigun, or pipe bombs, you cant even pick up a gas can or one of those helium pipes.

You can use pipe bombs, molotovs, and i think petrol and propane tanks are ok as well. Got it myself and used plenty of pipe bombs.

Same here, took a few tries because I would jump on the mini-gun when things got rough.

I used plenty of pipebombs and mollies, just don't touch the damn mini-gun :x


You also need to be alive and inside the rescue vehicle at the finale

OMG! The minigun! I didn't even think of that! ARGH! I did use it on the finale of Dead Air.

I got through the entire game without using anything but pistols, not even a pipebomb or anything...no achievement.

Someone said that you also have to be alive when the rescue vehicle came...were you alive?

...I tried it again...I was on Death Toll, the church level and then I was auto-disconnected because I lost a connection. It's like this is a sign, that I shouldn't even bother getting this achievement lol

Anyway back in the real world. A lot of people have been trying to get this and picking a weapon up at the start of the round, but never changing to it. Don't even do this. You can use molotovs and pipebombs, just don't ever pick up a primary weapon. Keep that slot empty, and it worked for me absolutely fine.

As long as you don't kill anything with any weapon beside the pistol, the achievement should work. At least, that's how it worked for my roomie. He even threw the Moltov, kiilled no Zombies, got the achievement.

I didn't use anything but pistols, I even avoided shooting random gas cans and stuff. I accidently picke dup a molotov on the fourth chapter but didn't use it.

Yep. I've heard some people say you can't but I got it no problem in single player and on easy. I avoided everything else, bombs/gasoline/picking up guns, because... well I didn't really need them.

Edit: You have to remember though, the game is pretty finicky about handing out achievements at the best of times. Half of the people who were denied it probably didn't do anything wrong at all.

That is what I did. I didn't even pick up a gun at all through the campaign. No Molotov's or pipe bombs.

No primary or Mini-gun, everything else is fine, just don't pick up a primary. That's how I got it on Advanced.

Hoorays! I got it a while ago. I didn't pick up any weapons other than another pistol and it worked.
However, I had to throw up on all four survivors a couple of times to get the barf bag achievement (i think that's the right achievement).

Barf Bagged is bugged like ****. I've done it 3 or 4 times and haven't got it yet.

Ya, but it's not too hard to throw up on all four survivors, which makes it easier to get than akimbo assassin.

Perhaps you didn't hit all four or one of them didn't register. For a while I've noticed that many infected attacks aren't registering. I got mine the first time I hit all four.

Edit: Oh, was it an explosion or did you vomit? It has to be vomit.

The achievement doesn't say you need to vomit.
