i'd say the only gun someone could ever use akimbo in real life (effectively) would be a derringer pistol or any other kind of hold out fire arm
you know those tiny little 1 or 2 shot pistols that are small enough to fit in your palm?, those.
however lets not forget those guns are pretty damn weak and have very little ammo and are not quickly reloaded. in other words they are crap
I guess dual lasers could also work since lasers have no recoil, but they'd probably be bulky
homemade mini flame throwers is another possibility. they are often no more than a blow torch's propane tank, a fuel resevoir, valves, and ignition equiptment. So technically it can be used akimbo style
mini crossbows are small anough and have the lack of recoil that would allow them to be used akimbo
