It would take out the HL atmosphere, and dual miniguns???? Gordon isn't a mech you know.
Dual machine guns suck as well, have a happy recoil party.

How do you realisticly going to hold 2 miniguns? Those things weigh a ton.
 
Dual weapons are fun, but i've re-enacted one too many scenes from equilibrium in MP2 to be able to spport their use in a shooter. they should, if used, be inaccurate as all hell since the idea of using them is to hit multiple targets.

Besides, in an fps they should be able to point at different targets, but they cant (i mean in completely opposite direction, like in equilibrium or the matrix).

There was a game that did that, metal flak I think it was called, but it was abit crappy since they were autoaim, alot like tomb radier as well..
 
tomb raider had annoying auto aim actually the whole interface was buggy and unresponsive i think.

There's a few MP2 mods out right now with dual MP5's... they're not as great as you'd think they are :p.

I think they're Cinema 1.2 and RezzieMod v3.5. I think the final version of The Sweet Mod has them, too.

If anyone tried that in real life, they'd die so quickly. You might as well juggle claw hammers. :)

Which reminds me: after having a crowbar, pipe wrench and possibly a ratchet wrench, isn't claw hammer the obvious next choice?

Secondary fire is the claw end. :)
 
Come on. Crowbar-Chucks are just as viable as Sword-chucks. Yo!

Dual pistols would be nice, and magnums would be nicer. Anything beyond that is usually too heavy or unwieldly to be used in one hand.

:bsflag: How would this be any diffent than regular flail/nunchucks? oh thats right its made of metal and has a chain.

Bruce Lee = Movie Actor
Half Life 2 = Video Game
Crowbar flail/nunchucks = possible in both movies and videogames
 
How bout a multiuse crowbar on a chain.uses for it
1.Climbing on buildings ((using it as hookshot))
2.Killing stuff with it
3.Fishing for headcrabs

WTF, do you have any idea how heavy and large a crowbar is?
Nunchucks you're talking about something thats maybe 300mm long and weighs less than 1kg. Crowbar is like 1000mm long and weighs about 5kg.

I think the majority here is going for a realistic sense.
Dual AT-4 rockets-just to impossible.
But so is carrying more weapons than Stalone or Schwarzeneger.
Half-Life 2 isn't realistic in a general sense.
But akimbo's will still ruin HL2 for me, it dosn't appeal to me for some reason.
Probably 'cause of the name--Akimbo...sounds Japanese or African...;(

Oh sure, I love the idea of not only being loaded down with roughly 135% of my bodyweight (and that's just the physicality of the guns and ammo and powersource, nevermind body armor, HEV suit, clothes, other weapons, or anything else) and after pulling the trigger once end up flying onto my back like a Washingtoon prostitute when a meeting on the Hill breaks up, and remaining there like a stunned turtle until whatever my feeble ass was trying to kill comes along and makes gibs of me.

Or.......

Yeah. I'm 20 feet tall, and can crush a schoolbus in one hand like an empty soda can.

That would be either a grappling hook (if it were shaped like a fishook, the bars in an outward fanning circle) or a grappling claw (if they're side-by-side and facing the same way). and besides, you know a military-dude in a noose is the best bait for headcrabbing.

Yeah, I don't think akimbo is Half-Life's "style". You know what I'm talking about. Would Gordon have akimbos? Nah, he can wield one PDW fine.
As for mods...that's a whole other story.
 
Yea I could definately see a mod with akimbo weapons. Like if someone did a "Duke Nuken: Eventually" mod in source I could see Duke with two guns.
As for Gordon, the way i look at it, if the character doesn't look like he should be in a bar fight in one way or another, he probably isn't somone who'd look right with two guns.

Character :: Location :: Two guns

Max Payne :: Angsty Bar Fight :: Yes
Barbie :: Drunk under a table :: No
Duke :: Any kind of bar :: Yes
James Bond :: Maybe a cocktail party :: Depends on the Actor
Gordon :: Maybe if he got lost :: No
Steve Irwin :: Aussie Bar :: Yes

These were just some examples. Just follow those simple rules, and you'll never go wrong.

On an unrelated note, who says you can't have crowbar-chucks? If you can have sword-chucks you can definately have crowbar-chucks, just follow the dogma of Fighter.
