Alyx + Gordon = Messiah?

Why not another adventure immediately following? Why does he have to wait a few decades to get off his ass again? With the volatility of this series something big could happen at the end that would lead to the next installment of games.

So, Gordon + Alyx = G-Man? That makes... Well, I don't know what it makes, but sense ain't one of 'em. If Alyx was/is/will be G-Man's mom, why would he leave her on the Citadel Tower, by a Dark Matter Reactor about to go super-nova? But while I'm sure the GreatBlackthorn was just being sarcastic, might has well shoot down the theory.

While I believe romance is indeed destined between Alyx and Gordon (or whenever Valve thinks they can pull it off without being lame), I'm sure its realization will be brief. It will be acknowledged in some form or another, maybe at the end of the game. But then you or she shall be whisked off somehow. There will be no room for secks, and therefore pregnancy.

I also don't like the idea of playing a Half-Life game without Gordon Freeman as the main protagonist. Replacing him with somebody else, even if two decades down the line, would just disrupt the continuity.

Ugh. I hate the messiah angle so many writers seem unable to resist. Why can't Gordan just be a guy who happens to kick major ass.

Hell, I think seeing Alyx and Gordon with kids would be great. And knowing their parents, they'd likely be extremely intelligent and highly skilled combatants.

Would make a hell of a co-op game.

An example of the "relationship" between Gordon and Alyx would be like Daphine and Fred romance (for those who remember the show when they we're kids, Scooby Doo).
It's so similar in so many ways.
