I foresee a darker Alyx, certainly. Vengeful, driven, probably somewhat merciless. I also think that there's a possibility we might see a significant development romantically, amidst all the emotional confusion and bewilderment. Valve has been increasingly hinting attraction for a good time now. From her care of you, to the teasings and innuendo, to her embaressed reactions when it's brought up, and of course the big ol' hug you get in Episode 1.

And seeing as how this is the end of the episodes and the HL2 story arc, it would be quite fitting if this was acknowledged in a meaningful way. Some people might find it corny, but I have no problem if they could manage to do it right. I know Laidlaw says they've only flirted with romance thus far, but you can tell the interest is there.

Pretty much right on all counts, I think.

Of course its there because its a field in which previous games have yet to get to grips with in an FPS formulae, Valve, I believe, could be first to actually make a developing romance in a game, not corny, and actually very believable. Well they have convinced me so far.

Facepalming was by far the most common action I undertook when playing a few FPS, Elite Force included

I hope she gets headhumped to the point that she isn't zombified but still in a vegetable like state.

I'd be awesome if Alyx blames Gordon for not doing anything as the reason for her fathers death, amidst the confusion. It would build emotion tension, etc. :p

And what the hell was he supposed to do?

Irrational reactions to things where people end up blaming others is all very interesting if you're a psychologist, but it doesn't 'build emotional tension', and in this case, it would be a character inaccuracy. Alyx is dependent on nobody, blaming Gordon is not something she would do: she's far more likely to blame herself for her father's death. For a precedent, take how she reacts to the Hunters besting her: 'You won't catch me off guard, not this time'. It wasn't 'Yeah, thanks Gordon and all. For crawling around under cabins whilst I get spikes thrust through me. Good going, hero.'

Besides, you'd be awesome whatever happened in Episode Three, right?

I was suggesting that under all the emotional confussion/breakdown/frustration that she'd blame others just to simply mask the pain. As in, we say things we don't necessarily mean. AMIRITE?

True on all accounts, I guess. But we wouldn't know how she'd react in the situation that has currently befallen her (Becides the obvious crying). Especially being an only child, with no parents, and no relatives would certainly drive someone insane.

I still have beef with her on that fact that I... Gordon, saved her life and she hasn't even thanked me for saving her life. D:

I'll just leave the decision to Valve since they really know how to direct the series, I mean all the story decisions they made thus far haven't let me down and every ending to every game in the HL series has just been mind-blowing so I trust they will come up with a suitable ending for Ep 3 (I mean if Alyx lives or dies).

I hope Alyx gets much more dark and vengeful... maybe go to EMO!!! and I want to see her in ep3 Kick a combine's ass in front of you, combine looks up while on the ground on his back, and Alyx puts gun to his face, pulls trigger, and calls him idiot for followin space slugs... then you can just see gordon's face like WTF?!?

Um... that's not emo. Emo she'd just sit in the corner and slit her wrists while singing a vortigaunt drinking song.

I think she should get shot in the head via Overwatch sniper. Sudden, brutal, and no long goodbye.

Even though I love Alyx's character, you never ever see stuff like this in stories, and I think something like this would be shocking and really great.

Alyx should stay...

...and have babies with gordon...

...and live happily ever after in hawaii or some sh1t...

...even better the trilogy should end with a sex scene between them...
