A animated polygonal characters is FAKE... not a real person. I honestly don't see how somebody could get "turned on" by polygons. Even if that is the intention... at least in my mind its still fake which ruins everything... its all the same stupid crap with anime porn that some people love... its not a real person!

the difference in real porn is that you know its a real actual person, just in a picture. Therefore you know she is real and not fake. Just because its on a computer screen doesn't mean she's not real... its the same as if it were printed on paper

although i'm not really into porn believe it or not... but not like i'm adversed to seeing some once and a while :bounce:

Because i can't **** a computer screen, therefore polygons don't get me excited. Its different with normal porn because you know that person exists in real life, not on the internet or in a 3d modeling program. But even normal porn really doesn't do much for me anyways. I hafta have a real girl in front of me that i can touch for it to work :-P

sigh....i don't like anime porn, it is TOO unrealistic, but the truth is the SOUNDS, may sound realistic, and the actions may seem realistic, the point is, is that you odn't have to be SEEING two people in the act of sexual intercourse to be turned on... Honestly i don't think she's really that pretty but i'm glad they didn't made her a typical video game character. Ie.. unreal2, TOMB RAIDER, far cry (overaccentuated big boobies since i can't sy the other)

and she's wearing more "normal" clothing... i think she looks kind of ugly in the game but i dunno if it will look a lot better in game.

I just REALLY hope it doesn't turn into a gay love story... like "gordon save me!"... but maybe just more of a underlying kind of "spark" just don't make it a big plot point or anything... i really really really don't want half-life to turn into a big ball of gay love story

Well you guys gotta see this a bit different. Use your imagination, seriously, you don't need porn or anything. You can also just close your eyes and think of something, is that nerdy too? No I don't think so, illusions and imagination is one of the most important things the human brain can do.

I see nothing bad in looking at Alyx and finding her good looking, and then probably making your own illusions about her, because afterall, everything just happens in your mind even if you think about a "real" person.

Another example that porn ain't good for us! It takes our imagination skills away =)
 
So people are willing to run about spouting superlatives about how realistic the characters look, and we hang on every word about how an emotional connection between the player and NPCs is forged by using animation, writing and form, and yet all of a sudden if you become attracted to a character it makes you a nerd?

So it's alright to react to characters with anger, or hate, or laughter, but anything else is NERD NERD LOL?

Seems like a double standard.
