Amazing bushido hornets.

omg, I never knew that.

WOW they use their jaws to cut the bees body. very interesting, but how sad: 30 vs 30000 :|

Okay I love the helicopter sounds and the sad music and ofcourse the funny voice.
There was this one part where a bee got cut in half and it looked like he was saying to his friends: "Get out of here, safe yourself" or "Dont let them take you alive" or "Take care of the kids when I'm gone hun"

ooohh the sadness

/me cries

That was so incredibly awesome.

It was like Saving Private Ryan, with bees.

Cooool.

Horests like are the nazis of nature.

There next video...

30 Hornets, vs, 30,000 steel-capped boots. ITS PAYBACK TIME.

Punt goes the hornets.

how do they get all those camera angles?

mind the ratio was 1:1000...

why didnt the 1000 bees just pile on one hornet?

Steel capped? I prefer the term, Steel-toed.

Hmm, that was a bit melodramatic. But anyway, isn't there a thing where Honeybees really defend their hive from the outside, but once a wasp gets inside, they don't care?

I was watching some nature thing, which prompted me to find this video and air it. What it didn't show, was the japanese honey bees. When a scout went to their nest... they'd kind of lure him inside. He'd spray his stink, and then... they all make a movement to signal when to attack. And they just ****ing pile on over the scout and start shaking their asses like its some sort of dance. They're not biting, or stinging, or anything like that to the bee. They're vibrating so much they raise the temperature(shown via heat wave video) to like 118 degrees. The bees can withstand temperatures up to 119, but the hornet can only withstand to 115, so they cook him.

However, if he just sprayed his stuff, and left... the bees would be screwed, since they have little defense against the hornets en masse.

Wow, are all Japanese animals this creative?
European bees and wasp just seem to either kill themselves for 1 sting, or just normally sting.
They're probably more interesting, I just don't know alot about them.

Wasps dont kill themselves after they sting people. There bastards. I like bees though.

Only Honey Bees do, Bumble Bees have a smooth stinger (like wasps). But they tend to be really gentle anyway.

I've seen a documentary on them on tv once. Really cool.

Plus if you get stung and the stinger comes off, it starts releasing pheromones that make other bees sting you.

Bah. I'm ony doing this because they made me.

I got stung by a wasp once... they're annoying because they don't die. Suicide all the way!

Why Danimal?
Anyone know of any other suicidal animals? Only heard of bee's and humans being suicidal.

Hornets scare the hell out of me. I tend to remedy this situation by beating them with a heavy object.

Light objects work too.

eeek im glad those big things don't live anywhere near me

i hate bees

We don't really have hornets here in Finland, we only have bees and the rare wasp. However bees do already scare the living daylights out of me. Once I had to spray this football sized nest of them at our summer cottage because they had built it over the power switch for the water pump. Damn I got stung.

Depends, with a light object it may not die instantly and get pissed off.

PS. Nice avatar btw
Thanks, yours is excellent too.

Heh, I can't say how many times I've been stung because of my bad aim. I'll swing and just clip it, and then it'll land on my head and sting sting sting.

They're not really suicidal... just patriotic :) And probally a bit paranoid too...

"He's walking over to the hive..."
"He's holding a fork!!!"
"PROTECT THE QUEEN!!!"
"FOR THE HIVE!!"

*sting*

"ow!"

Goes to show that genocide isn't just a human trait to is also capable by other species as well.

Bees protect their queen with a sort of religious passion, something that, i would presume, a heck of a lot of American's would never consider doing.

I think thats just determination to migrate and stupidity.

...and running out of builder lemmings.
