theres at least 2 westerners on this board who would love to suicide bomb some american soldiers and civilians in iraq... its not surprising at all that some assholes would try and pull this off, america is a big place and full of some stupid people.

um.. liberal = terrorist lover? no, i dont think thats true. extremist liberal is equally as evil as an extremist conservative. i'm liberal in a lot of ways and conservative in ways. im not a half-terrorist. it was more of a gentle nod toward no limit and cptstern ;) but im kidding, i know they love our troops.

Most certainly. There's going to be some terrorists in America, and it wouldn't suprise me if they decided that Iraq would be a place where they could get weapons and a chance to use them .
 
well we all know that the iraqi war is just a waste of time and Bush trying to impress his dady and to steal their oil and because "god" told him to...so let us lean back and laugh at the dumb people accross the ocean in the land that probably had a brain damage from James town which is the birth of americas population that we call Americans.

The whole world is laughing at those people, everyone is just waiting for their next comic act.

Acting under enemy forces constitutes treason. If someone defected to the Nazis in WWII but never really saw actual combat against American soldiers, it's still treason.

The soviet regime wasnt left, it ceased to be communist the secound stalin came to power. It was then far right.

It was arguably evil before Stalin.

But even under Stalin, it was still extreme left - the controlled economy, the large government (large? try positively sprawling), the lack of corporations, the forced equality and so on. It was still extremely left wing. The thing is, it's not a continuum, it's a circle. The further left or right you go, the more you start to approach the other side. Left and right curl round like a mammoth's tusks until they become the same thing (hell if I know what exactly that is).

No. Because capitalism means everybody has their own stake and profit is made bny private enterprises. The government controlling all industry is not capitalist.

I think you're confusing left with liberal and right with totallitarian.

That is and was the aim of Lenin, to make things as good as possible for everyone. However, it didnt have the infrastructure, and allowed a centralisation of power, the people were too preoccupied to be vigilant.

What Stalin did was not communist or left wing. It was the explotation of these policies, for communism to work it has to be an international movement.

I checked that out and good point on the "state capitalism" thing, Solaris. But I don't see how that's not left wing. Plus, while the Tsars were bastards, it wasn't like Lenin was a saint either.

The POINT is that extreme left-wing systems can quite easily be evil.
 
The reason it didn't work was it was built during chaos.

There wasn't an agreed concept on the power of the workers councils, power was too easy to seize hold, and Stalin took advantage of this.
