I hate how nobody can ever stand to address the good things that happen in Iraq. Communists like stern will always say "yeah... so what if 70% of them voted... 2 people died!!" More people probably die of heart attacks while voting here than died of terrorist attacks during this election. Nothing substantially bad occured, but everything will always go back to: 1) we shouldent have been there 2) "ok ok, the votings gone well. But is freedom from oppression worth "14"000 deaths? Many people died to create THIS country, imagine if they hadnt? This de facto proves that the Iraqis really do care about their freedom, and the principle of democracy. Rough road? Yeah, but it will be worth it, even if conspiracy theorists (teh alienz r teh keeling TEH IRAQIANS!!!1) say otherwise.

Thats what I hate so much about the left, they are ALWAYS pessimistic, nothing can ever go right enough for them.

Wow -- looks like all the "OMFG LISTEN TO ME OMFG CANADIAN COMBINE!!" crowd is spewing over in fear Bush's plan might succeed.

Ohwell, Good News is: Iraqi Vote turnout higher then in America.

Bad news is: Liberals hate that.

Didnt you get the memo? Republicrats drink Busch light, Demicans drink wine coolers.

much to my shame, I'll get the last laugh ..your only concern is to be vindicated for invading and destroying a country, none of you care about the iraqi people ..none of you. If you did, you would have acknowledged the fact that countless innocents have died for you to prove a point

I found this on another website.

Thank you Soldier

Have you stopped to thank a veteran today?
For the price of freedom they had to pay?
Did you gaze into those distant eyes?
Did you see the ghosts he can't deny?
Did you think a soldier's heart was made of steel?
Because he was trained to kill, he couldn't feel?
Did you see the guilt written on his face,
For the loss of life he can't replace?
Did you know he mourns the lives he couldn't save,
And walks with comrades in their grave?
Did you remember the boy with innocence lost?
Do you really know war's ultimate cost?
Have you felt the blast of artillery fire?
Do you have the courage it would require?
Have you stood in trenches consumed with fear?
Felt the enemies breath so very near?
Have you walked with God on a battleground?
Seen your brothers dead or dying all around?
Have you stopped to thank a vet today,
Or did you just turn and walk away?
From the pain he'll carry for the rest of his life,
Did you consider his family, his children, his wife?
That watch him suffer in silence each and every day,
As he's haunted by memories that don't go away?
Did you care that the soldier is still pulling guard?
That his heart, mind, and soul will forever be scarred?
Do you know how he suffers from ptsd?
Or that our precious freedom is never free?
Did you care that he still hears the blood curdling screams?
Or that he returns to the war each night in his dreams?
Have you felt the sorrow of a combat vet?
Or would you rather just forget?
That war has pierced his hardened heart,
And torn this soldier all apart?
Would you rather our heroes just fade away?
Or will you stop to thank a vet today?

Funny...the EU bitchs about america going to war...then won't send anybody over there to help with the election and make sure it goes alright. :|

You're right. The EU is too lame. They should do something insteed of just complaining.

much to my shame, I'll get the last laugh

No you wont. Especially, when your using the Iraqi elections to your own forum self-esteem and pronounced political gains. Stern, if John Kerry did this, I would'nt be going OMFG KERRYS TEH EVAL IT WILL FAIL SOON.

I'd still be cheering on Iraqis for, not only their display but willingness to develope their country. Now, Bush has laid this out for the elected representatives -- we will leave if asked.

Here comes the flame war!

oooookaaaay :rolling: ..ya my views have made me extremely popular :upstare: See the difference here is that the majority of you became aware of the issues with the invasion of iraq, I've been following it since the late 80's, before some of you were born

"The U.S. Army expects to keep its troop strength in Iraq at the current level of about 120,000 for at least two more years, according to the Army's top operations officer. "

ya got me

WASHINGTON — The Bush administration will ask Congress, perhaps as early as today, for about $80 billion in new funds for military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, administration and congressional officials said yesterday.
The package would be in addition to $25 billion already approved for 2005.
$105 billion more?!?!?! :|

No, here it does'nt come!

Somehow, that statement is very easy to disagree with Stern.

Course, how can you allege I never cared for the Iraqis? Dont discourse my reputation with Eg's statements -- I find that particularly irresponsible.

that sentence makes little sense ..and yes I stand by my statements

Ok let me ask everyone this...

You people say you care for the Iraqi's....did you care about them before 9/11?...and be honest.

Caring for them with your heart is way diffrent from caring for them just mainly based on politics and so called freedom for everyone.

That is the point. The extensive tradition of threatening and crashing ones you want. For reasons as oil, controll, dominance, politics of power that are very far from concern about people there.

Bth when Saddam attacked Iran, the USA had been supporting Saddam and had some military actions against Iran. What was that?? :flame:

I am really glad, the EU didn't participate in this dirty matter.

I hope, it woudn't be next ones! But if it would, you know what I wish for that case ;) ...

Yes, I did. Oh, and I'am being honest.

However, if you want to hold trial, go make a thread where this is possible.

Truthfully...No I didn't.Well...I did care in the sense I felt bad they had to live like that....but thats about as far as it went.

You see, because at least two years before 9/11, I had been caring. My neighbors just accross the yard, are Iraqis. Sunni, Iraqis.

... but guess what? Noone would know I even cared for them. Or heck, even knew their children. I played football with their son -- and what gets me the most, is when people feel I dont know an Iraqi, or what an Iraqi went through.

They sat, at our table once for dinner, telling us what had been going on in Iraq, on the night of September 11th, 2001; because they were scared they're country might've done it.

Ooooh, but oh yea -- noone would believe Kerberos right? If noone believes me, then you can eat me. [Only I would've known their son and that family; and I would'nt have it any other way.]

The only thing keeping me from posting their contact information, is because of this forums privacy policy.

so you were outraged when you found out your country is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of iraqi children? yes or no, I dont want to hear "well saddam did this and that" just answer the question

However, if you want to hold trial, go make a thread where this is possible.

he posed the question, you just answer it ..personally I bet you couldnt pick out iraq on a map prior to 9/11 ..you probably still pronouce it as "eye-rak"

he posed the question, you just answer it

I just did answer the question. He answered it in reply ...

What more did you want out of us?

you used it incorrectly

No, I used it correctly.

so you were outraged when you found out your country is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of iraqi children?

Hello, yes, duh! But noone made a single thread asking me. See, when you dont ask me these things -- then you dont know how I feel about them.

However, if you want to hold trial, go make a thread where this is possible.

How is this ... a retort .. to what I answered to?

Lesley Stahl on U.S. sanctions against Iraq: We have heard that a half million children have died. I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?

ya got me there :rolling:

you blame the USA alone for sanctions implemented through the UN security council..... how can you do that? :monkee:

especially when you consider that Russia, France China and Germany all violated the sanctions for their own financial gain, thus usurping the intended purpose of the sanctions and resulting in the deaths you complain about.

but how can lesley stahl prove that half a million children have died, he could be lying or over-exagerating ...

"we HEARD" ...ok mr stahl we believe you.
