Anand says benchmark demo on Sept 30th

Unfortunately we are not able to bring you performance numbers based on titles such as Half-Life 2 just yet, but come September 30th the release of the benchmarking demo will allow us to do just that.

This isn't old news. It might have been speculated before as a rumour, but the article he poasted it in is a new article just release within the last hour.

I'm afraid it's old news. When Valve's Half-Life 2 benchmark results were released one of the slides stated that the Benchmark would be released on the 30th of September.

hes from anandtech.com which is a very respected site. plus this isn't some amateur site, they get sent processors and everything for major companies to benchmark.

At the bottom of the page it says this:

the poster i quoted, said that "Don't forgert that they said that the benchmark will be released the same time with the game launch....."

see, no one ever said they would release the benchmark on the release date of the game, they said two seperate things.

1) the benchmark will be released ons eptember 30th.(probably only to hardware sites at first)

2) the benchmark will be included in the game when it ships.

see, nowhere does anyone say the benchmark release will coincide with the game release.
