Finally, after so long a passage of time, Antlion Troopers Deuce is finished.

All the information and download links for it can be found at:

http://antlions.************* (replace **** **** with h l 2 w o r l d . c o m)

Known Issues that you personally need to know (They all pertain to the commander getting stuck)

1)When you first enter the base the commander may get trapped by a circle of npcs around him.

Solution: Move the npcs in his way, out of his way using the command keys b,n,m

2)When you get to the second level the commander again can possible be blocked from getting off the wall if you are lucky and save alot of allies from the first area. It is very unlikely to happen, but same solution applies.

3)When you are entering inside the base rarely the commander will move to the first move coord and just stop there and not continue onward to the next point.

Solution: If you move him anywhere nearby he will continue on his journey after he has moved to where you told him.

4)Very Rarely, in the beginning your dropship and another may become locked together and you wont be able to continue on. This occurs mostly on the first load if you experience hitching when you start.

Solution: Restart map. It will not happen the next time, garunteed because the system will have all resources loaded and you should not experience the hitching again.

That is all with the Known Issues, Hope you enjoy.

Cheers Romeo, been waiting a long time for this, should impress :) *downloading*

A rip off Star Wars: Republic Commando. Especially the british accent gig and the environments.

I'm probably the only one disliking it *prepares to get burried alive*

If its a 'rip off' of anything, it would be Starship Troopers right?

I played a bit, but I got angry because its hard.

?

I never played that game, it was actually based off Starship troopers, hence the name.

Haha nice....it's finally released..

downloading now - I hope it was worth the wait..

BTW..the bottom of your site is messed

Well yeah, I didn't say that this mod is based off Star Wars: Republic Commando. What I ment, it's pretty much similar to it. The gameplay is OK, I guess, but everything else... Maybe it's just me.

Any game where the main character has full suit armor, fights alien hordes and has alot of automatic weapons is a "ripoff" of something else. (Halo, Republic Commando, this, Doom, Half-Life, Meteroid, etc)

bug !

for some reason i ALWAYS (tried three times) seem to die at the "since you're so good at placing turrets.." part, after the airship crash. no matter how much health i have (this last time i had 75 hp left), after about 30 seconds of antlions coming in the view drops a little and the "send highscore" window shows up.

You must keep the green guy alive, also be wary of the roof falling on you...

erf, i never had a chance to see that since i use to be in the front line.. thanks

Would anyone be kind enough to supply some screenshots for those of use currently at work? Sounds great thus far.

Half Life and Half-Life 2 weren't a rip off something. For me both HL1 and HL2 were original games, and they have other games "ripping them off". Not the other way around.

Anywho, I find the mod technically great. Sorry if I seemed harsh and rude.

Lol Immunity... First you call it a rip-off and then when you realise you were quite blatantly wrong you try to make it sound like you were merely trying to point out the similarities? Ever thought about working in politics? You'd be great! Though I don't really get the point of calling it a rip-off of something else when even it's bloody name lets you know it's not based off an original concept. It's not even a "British gig", it's just the mapper's own voice!

EDIT: Oops, just realised now that you posted a real apology while I was typing this out, sorry if the above post seems a bit out of place now

RomeoJGuy, good work dude, it's obvious to see how much effort you've put into this (and I know mapping for source is pretty fricken tedious at times, compared to mapping for HL anyways). It's hard, it's buggy, but it's so much better than the original and a lot more fun. The intro is cool, but sitting through it gets a little old the 5th or 6th time you have to start over because a dropship landed on you or one of the gates locked the commander and all your men out of the next section.

You missed the point.
I was being sarcastic, nothing is a ripoff of anything, they all just have a recurring theme.

Some pics.

No, I did not realize I was wrong. I have already said before, that it's my point of view. I can't say anything regarding the mod's gameplay because it truly is good. However flying around in a container with a guy in white armor who speaks in British accent (NO OFFENSE HERE, SARCASM ONLY) reminded me of a game I so much hate. And even in-game the environment reminds of that game. But if I hate a game it doesn't mean I hate anything that might look like it. I said I dislike it, thus it's not my taste.

P.S. I told you I'm gonna be burried. This is slowly occuring...
P.P.S. I'll shut up now.

Damn, I just got on the lift, then one of the gas canisters exploded and set the commander on fire, then an antlion guard ran into a barrel causing it to explode and the game crashed!

The download is going slow, but I'm really looking forward playing it!

it all came from Heinlein's Starship Troopers (the book, not the shitty movie).

First movie was pretty good imo.

I didn't see the second one, but that really sucked from what I've heard.

Please make a patch where the ****ing commander has more health and maybe make him smarter?
becouse he just runs into a pack of antlions and let them kill him.....

I'm stuck (as in glued to the ground) as soon as I'm dropped off. Noclip does nothing.

The controls are changed to arrow keys, set them to default and just change the B N M keys for commands.

I don't know why it was neccecary to change these, but its very annoying.

It’s a comedy.
Yeah, it's a so hilarious if people get ripped apart in several parts or get burned alive :D

The best part is when the guy is shot in the head during the practice exercice. I was waiting for Doug (from www.purepwnage.com for all the noobs out there) to jump on screen and scream: "Boom, Headshot!" :p

Back ontopic: RomeoJGuy, are you planning on fixing these bugs, or are you just going to leave it like this. I think you should move on to other projects, like the Hydramod. You wasted enough time on this map and there are mods who need your experience :p

The gates cannot lock you or commander out... THey are triggered to only close when and only when player and commander have gone through them.

He has so much health though....

1200 is a lot... :bounce:

You should be sure to keep him nearby using the command keys and you shouldnt have to worry.

I am so confused so much people say its so hard, but when I play I always beat it with tons of health.

Uh I was doing good, but as soon as I fell back to the second level my game was over. This happens randomly, is the commander suppose to stay alive? Because I had liek 85 health when this happened.

Yeah, thanks... I had just figured that out when I went back in-game.

I got to the point where the antlion gaurd comes through the ground, killed it but in the process was taken out by the little bugsies.

How about in a bad production value this is a piece of shit way. Don’t you people laugh at bad movies?

Not when they're sequels to really good movies.
