Well, I've been hearing lately that baseball is a very boring sport even more boring that golf. That is not true, there's a reason its America's #1 pastime; The reason its boring is baybe because you have a horrible team depending were you live.I live in NY, I have pride in my team. Anyways, every time I watch this video it gives me goosebumps every time I watch it.

Even if you concider baseball a boring sport, I beg you to at least watch this highlight video, its only 6-7 minute's of you time, please do me this one favor I beg you hl2.net & it has great music to boot. ;)

Here's that clip I was talking about: http://vidsearch.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=1298375961

To me I can watch this clip a hundred times & it never gets old. Also for the video put the sound as loud as possible to here the fans & the croud & the announcers.

Thoughts? opinions on the video & the sport? speculations? Questions?

Cheers,

Seriously, baseball is the most boring sport on this earth, that and bloody american football. W00t we fell over! LETS START AGAIN! They just throw a ball over and over and over and no one can hit it and those damn kits! Real sexy tight trouses. Nothing ever happens!

The South Park episode 905 "losing edge" says it all about baseball.

I have a life, other thanpc n' game's. Baseball is my love & my life. I LIVE OFR THIS!!!!!

Baseball sucks. I worked last summer as a cameraman at my local minor league team (the Durham Bulls), filming or editing or doing graphics or whatever for the cable broadcasts.

Watch the video, what sport is better; name ONE!!!!!!!

I Guarentee you If you came to NY between at the end of April all the way to post season October, you would have a change of heart, here in Flushing Queens.

Basketball & hockety is moe boring that baseball.

Football, the proper one where the ball actually has to touch your foot

Boxing
Any martial art / Combat sport
Ice Hockey
Rugby
Football (Soccer)

Soccer is borring all they ever do is run around the field. Football, they just jump ontop of you. I don't know what rugby is nor do I care what it is.

There is a reason why baseball is ever so popular with the cuba, Puerto Rico, Some in Mexico, Dominican Republic, Venezuala, Japan, Korea, & the states. The post season is the best part, the fall classic.

The Japanese are like in LOVE with baseball & so is most of Latin America + America.

Baseball isn't bad, but please don't make an ass of yourself. No way in hell that it's better than football, hockey, or basketball.

Basketball isn't great, sorry to be racial in' all but its mostly filled with african american's. I am not a fan of football, they just jump onto of each other(they keep repeating the same plays all over again, tackle n' interceptions). But yeah I see alot hate for baseball here; it isn't a bad sport infact its a great sport its called "America's #1 pastime" for reason.

Name why the Japanese are in love with it? some one tell me?

Football > any American sport. Theres a reason why most of the world plays it.

WTF?

Dude you seriously need to stfu and gtfo. Just because you grew up in Queens surrounded by Mets and Yankees, don't let it blind you towards other sports. Right now you're sounding like a complete asshat.

I didn't get "pumped" from that for two reasons

1. New York baseball is all a joke, you can like the Mets that are a let down every year, or the Yankees who have ****ing Jesus in the infield with their 30000 billion dollar budget, yet have to fight to get into the wild card/playoffs year after year

2. National League baseball is basically a bunch of old pitchers just throwing the ball, hardly any hits in that bloop single league

I like all sports, so I'm not even going to comment on which is better, but I definitely do like baseball a lot.

When I was in New York I saw the Yankees play at Yankee Stadium and the Mets play at Shea Stadium. It was great, there's nothing like actually being there. But I enjoy it on TV as well.

I used to play Baseball, but I quit; it just wasn't my thing. I wasn't really bad or anything, I was decent in my last year, I just wasn't a fan of the baseball enviroment when actually playing. It felt too...American, or something. I stuck to soccer and hockey, then later on just to hockey. I officialed both hockey and soccer as well.

Ahh AL fan eh? the Minnesota Twins & Johan Santana. I have a feeling Mr. Pedro Martinez(Future hall of famer) will be back to his old self & dominate again he is only just turned 35.

Also didn't the Twins get swept by the Oakland Athletic's & Barry Zito in the first round of the playoffs? The Mets made it all the way one game shy of the WS!!!! Also the NL won the WS this year where as the AL lost no thanks to pudge rodriguez & magglio ordonez.

You guys are all idiots! Except for Baal.

Any sport can be broken down into very basic terms that make it sound unappealing. Soccer is just guys running around kicking a ball. Baseball is just guys swinging sticks at a ball and throwing it around. Football is just guys hitting each other and throwing an oval ball. Hockey is just guys sliding around on ice hitting a lead weight with stupid looking sticks. Boxing is just guys fighting punching each other, but with limits on how they can punch.

In order to like any sport you need to have a team (or teams) that you like to watch and know about. I like baseball because I like the red sox. I know who their enemies are (Kamakazi-blitz), I know how they play, and I know the personalities of both the team as a whole and the individual players.

I like american football because I like the Giants, I know a bunch of their players, I know who they are as a team etc. I dont like soccer because I dont know any of the teams. I dont like boxing because I dont know any fighters (well... I do, but they are pretty much just idiot meatbags).

You guys get what I am saying?

I've never really tried to argue what sports are better than what, it is a really dumb argument.

One sport I don't really care for is rugby. My reason? I don't understand it, I don't know any of the teams, I've never played it myself, or really friends with anyone who has played it.

It isn't televised on TV here in Canada all that much that would give me an oppourtunity to enjoy it either.

Wouldn't that say the same for you Euros who say Baseball and Football (American) are bad? I think it's the exact same situation in reverse, except I enjoy Football(European), because it is such a world-wide sport I was introduced to it at a young age. Also, it is televised here in Canada a lot, especially the European Championship (last one was in Portugal), the World Cup and a lot of UEFA games.

I believe it's all about what you're exposed to, and what you understand. I don't know much about rugby, and therefore don't enjoy it, because I don't identify with it at all. Same goes for most of you guys with the more American sports. Soccer just is an exception because it is so Worldwide (which makes it better some will say, but I don't know....maybe it's just because it is such an old game and people were introduced to it so early).

The people who are flaming certain sports really need to ask themselves my questions about rugby, then maybe they'll understand their arguments are foolish. I know why I don't enjoy the sport I don't like; it's because I don't identify with it. It's not because it's a bad sport or millions of people of enjoy it and I don't. Just as simple as that really.

I completely agree with 100% all the way. Im not a yabkee fan infact I hate the yanks, so I am a big met fan & my favorate met is pedro.

Speaking of Pedro, Krynn72 I was wondering over there in boston how much do you guys miss good 'ol petey? :P And about Boston I hear alot Manny keeps asking for a trade every single second of the day, does that guy ever give up? lol

Something is really wrong here.

How can you possibly agree with 100% of what he said? Half of it completely contradicts what you have stated in my first two quotes of you bashing certain sports.

Football as in the one that makes sense(Soccer).

Baseball isn't that boring of a sport when your playing it... but when your watching it? I mean c'mon there has to be a 100x more entertaining things that you could get up and go do. Like shooting yourself...or hanging yourself..

Because the people that first posted here was putting hate on baseball, and as a fan of baseball I got annoyed some what. Well to tell the truth I do like Hockey, my favorate team is the NY Rangers.

I could never hit a 450ft Home Run, nor could I throw a fancy curve ball or not a fast ball being thrown at 100MPH, I bet no one could. These are not ordinary people were are dicussing, these are all star athlete's we are talking about.

That was close. Your post made zero sense until you edited it.

But still, it makes very little sense.

:o

Good to hear you arnt a yanks fan. Those guys are douchebags :P *points at next door neighbor*

I actually dont live in Boston. I used to live in CT and just this year moved to FL. But yeah... I missed Pedro, and I think a lot of Boston fans did. Also... YES, Manny is always asking for trades and its getting damned annoying!

Snowboarding, is there anything ells i have to say?

Yeah, I hate the yanks because they are an overpaid, cocky, arrogant, cheaters that have roid rage like giambi and sheffield & please A-rod as long as they have him $kanks will always choke plus he is the ultimate choke artist.

I've been hearing that Pedro will concider retirement if his rehab for the torn rotator cuff in his shoulder doesn't get him 100% healthy, I got a feeling that he will suprise everybody & will continue to dominate. I want to pitch till his is at least 40 years old.

To get away from that, I heard the Red Sox got Daisuke Matsuzuka, a Japanese Pitcher & now the Red Sox have offer him a giant contract 45mill, becuase they won the bid.

I like football(american) because my town has just started a team in the past year and we already beat sheffield at home and in december we are going down to sheffield to beat them again (we are quietly confident :E)

I find baseball incredibly boring to watch but not play, which is the same for all sports in my opion. But i put it down to this, watching it at home sports have no buzz about it except maybe huge competitions like the world cup. When i've been to see a football(soccer) game i've really enjoyed it because of 40 odd thousand Newcastle supporters chanting for most of the match, the atmosphere is incredible but i can't watch football (soccer) on TV at all it sends me to sleep. However an exception to the rule is basketball, which is dull at all times except when playing. The only time i've been to a match me and my friend left at the half.

Name why the Japanese are in love with it? some one tell me?
The Japanese sell used panties in vending machines, you think I'm going to accept their baseball loving as "normal"?

Riiiiight.

Well, in most cases, if you are from the UK (especially England), then you will say that football is a much better sport. I love football, and I think it is the best sport in the world as well as being the most popular. I love watching it as well as playing it, used to love watching Arsenal play Man Utd in the 03/04 premiership season, where Patrick Veira and Roy Keane would clash in the midfield, and there is a massive heated debate between the managers at the moment, as well as all the top players slating Graham Poll (the top referee in the premiership), acussing him of deliberately getting back at the top teams. So I love the drama of football and love just see the talent and skill that comes out of it, I mean watching Henry at his best is just a joy, and nothing beats a good 7 asside football match with my mates. As well as that, I love many of forms of martial arts as I have been practising it for almost 12 years now and now a black belt and qualified instructor, its a great source of exercise and its a great way to break away from the things of normal society to start thinking clearly again, and you are safe in the knowledge that if you are ever attacked, you have the ability to put the attacker in hospital for a very long time, although I always keep my karate profession under raps, as I hate being a show off just as much as a hate show offs. I would say learning something like martial arts requires the most skill out of most sports, like learning how make a split decision against 6 attackers within seconds whilst still keeping your nerve? Thats proper skill in my books.

Anyhoo...

The only two sports I try to recognize...

Paintball, and Airsoft.

No one could? So are the star athletes like donkeys or something?

Let me tell you something.
I Do Not Care What The Hell They Can Do That I Can't.
^ Like all the first letter caps? Why did I do that? No ****ing clue. Moving on..

I honestly do not care who wins the superbowl, who is the best chess player, who can drink more beer than me, or who plays baseball. I don't give a shit what they can do. I like things that build a tension in my stomach like something that slowly builds up and then bursts. Baseball does not do that for me. That simple.
It's why I like Soccer and Starcraft(Melee and Diplo style games), they build up this insane tension that forces me to push away all other things in my head and concentrate on whats at hand. It builds up and explodes over and over.

Name why the Japanese are in love with it? some one tell me?
Because we pwned them in WW2 and forced them to accept our ideas.

To me, going to Shea Stadium to see some NY Mets post season baseball, during the playoff's is truely an amazin' once in a life time experience. Going into shea packed with 75,000 thousand fan's is Great. The excitement in the air, the smell of hot dogs & beer, & listening to the 75 thousand fans getting on their feet cheering their team on & want every one in Flusing & around the world wanting their voice be heard.

Going to Shea stadium is truely a unique experience, I love hereing the fans when they chant "LETS GO METS!!!, LETS GO METS!!!, LETS GO METS!!!!" and the other one the Jose Reyes chant "JOSE JOSE JOSE JOSE JOSE JOSE JOSE!!!"

I love hearing the fans when they scream on top of their lungs, clap their hands as hard as they can, I love how they fans react when the Speedy Jose Reyes gets on base & wrecks havok for the opposing side, & I love when the fans react when the most dangerous hitters of the mets lineup comes to the plate. I love how Carlos Beltran makes the other teams day a living hell when he just kills them his bat along with is best friend Carlos Delgado, & I love when David Wright pumps his fist, & finally I love how Pedro Martinez points to the sky when he gets another win.

I can also understand why people don't like to want baseball, because baseball is all about stats & numbers like lets say this hitter was 0-5, there is 2 out & nobody on, the count to this hitter 2-2, this hitter is batting .180 with Runners in scoring possition, or this hitter is battng .450 with runners in scoring position. A big part of baseball is stats.

Basketball isn't great, sorry to be racial in' all but its mostly filled with african american's.
Wow. Just wow.

And what's hilarious is that you tried to use the politically correct term, but you're just oozing racism.

I love baseball, but you're giving me a reason to hate it with your nonsense ramblings.

Yea, I love watching them hit the ball then run in a straight line, then turn and run in another straight line and if we're really lucky he'll turn and run again....riveting.

164 games a year just isn't enough.
