Not all of them, mind you ;) I am getting EIGHT pulled on Friday. My wisdoms and 4 others :(

Anyone have any optimistic advice? Like, "Don't worry, the hellish pain of a thousand knife stabs in your brain will subside over the period of 31 days. :)"

Yeah, kinda like that ;)

Although i've never had my teeth pulled out, be ready for sharp needels and lots of blood.

I get to be asleep :D

Then be ready to lose 4 teeth, and to not be able to eat for X hours, and have that pain in yer mouth.

i've had two removed, one from each upper set. all they do is stick some general anaesthetic in your mouth and pull em out. the needle goes into the roof of your mouth, it just feels like something cold and something very thin, not painful at all. then when he starts pulling your teeth out, it doesn't hurt, it just feels like something tugging on your face. no real pain, but lots of blood.

dont eat corn on the cob!

I've had 4 pulled, 2 at a time.

It's not too bad after the first 3-5 days. But 8?????

Ask you dentist If you can break it up into 4 at a time or something. He'll probably listen to you.

Ouch, feel sorry for you man.

I had to have my 4 impacted wisdom teeth surgicaly removed when i was 15....

I had a dry-socket to....... what fun that was. I was actaully crying it hurt so bad....and i dont normally cry from pain.

I had two wisdom teeth that were impacted below the gums. They had to cut the wisdom teeth into smaller pieces so they could remove them from my gums. Now that was painful. I was awake for the entire operation. :x

have your wisdom teeth already grown out, or are you getting them cut out? i just had the surgery last week -- got all 4 wisdom teeth out :D. it didn't really hurt much at all (but i didn't have dry socket or anything like that)... just used the painkiller once and i actually didn't need it that time since my mouth was still numbed up. getting put to sleep isn't too bad either. as my surgeon-dentist said, "yeah, you feeling sleepy? go ahead and enjoy it, you don't get to do this very often" :o
but, 8 teeth, that must suck

I've never had anything pulled like that. I can't afford to go, so I haven't been to the dentist for anything in about 12 years. But my teeth seem fine, and I recently started flossing.

Is it normal for your gums to bleed after flossing?

uhh, bleeding should be ok. I think it should stop after a while if you floss regularly though (heh, this coming from someone who doesn't floss regularly).

and, Subkamran, if you can see the teeth back there..... then they've grown out already, lol. if the dentist is cutting and not pulling, then they haven't.

I've had one tooth pulled out. The syringe going into my gum hurt like ****, but I didn't even feel the tooth coming out at all. Half of my mouth refused to move at all when I spoke for the rest of the day.

Eight on one day?
It shouldn't be so bad if you're sleeping though.

I had four teeth pulled before getting braces, two at a time. The only thing that hurts is the needle, and it isn't so bad, just a little stingy. You just have to remember to take some Tylenol or something before the numbiness stops.

i had 9 teeth pulled in all. The first two sucked the most though. I was 6 years old, and i hated getting the needle that makes your mouth numb.... so i wouldnt take the needle. So i had get the two teeth pulled with no numbness.......i dont want to talk about it anymore......

lol here where i live u can pull out a maximum of 2 teeth at the time cuz of the bleeding..i have pulled 6 teeth or more in my life cant remember..

I know someone who simply pulled his own tooth out, because someone dared him to. It wasn't even loose. It was insane.

I got one of my mollers(sp?) pulled. It was one of my baby teeth but didn't have a permanent tooth under it so it started to sink. It was pretty low when I got it pulled. They put me under laughing gas(fun :)) and shot me up with pain killers then pulled the tooth. They stitched up the hole and put a cloth thing over to absorb all the blood. They gave me a perscription for some strong pain killers but it never hurt, so I never used em. It was only a couple of years ago by the way, I think I was 15 then.

Now that is some crazy shit.

don't let them put the syringe in the roof of your mouth because that is the worst feeling ever, other than that it feels nasty but you'll get over it real quick.

Got my wisdom teeth pulled (all 4 at the same time under narcosis) It was over within a week or so although the first night I had to sleep upright because the bloodpressure would make the blood seep through. It wasn't really bad.

You don't want a root canal treatment though. I tell ya. That is bad!

Load up on a bunch of happy and good feelings to think of over and over again as they start torturing your mouth. Don't think "ohh it's never ending" think of what you'll do afterwards, on fun stuff, just as long as it's good feelings.

I've gotten my bracers now, they had to pull out 4 front teeth, 2 lower jaw and 2 on the upper.. Oh, and the injection of the painkilling thing is worse than the actual pulling (not if they've injected it really bad, you WILL notice if the painkiller isn't working because of bad injection)

Oh and they used a broken needle first in my mouth, some ****ing quack or something, they injected the painkilling thing but it squirted right into my mouth.

I HAVE NEVER EVER TASTED ANYTHING AS BAD AS THAT

I almost vomited, I have to spit if I even think of the taste again..

I had a a lower one removed, right in the middle - the root was about ________ (actual size-ish). Didn't hurt (thanks mr anasth aneasth ansth non-hurty injection!) but the cracking and movement was horrible ;( making me curl up my toes.

A big splurt of blood went up my face but i didn't see it thank god

I've gotta get my 4 wisdom teeth pulled sometime soon.. I've been needing it done for about a year now.. procrastination is such a wonderful thing :) Actually, I'm well aware it's a bad idea to wait on getting your wisdom teeth pulled

I've had 4 pulled...2 each at seperate appointments. Don't worry man, they drug you up so bad you feel like your head is spinning. You can't feel a thing. No worries.

I had four pulled in one day once.

My canines came in far too early and were getting pushed outwards really far, so the dentists took out the two behind each. My canines are in the right positions now but the gum goes really far up the tooth, so it looks like I have vampire fangs.

Luckely my wisdom teeth mesh with each other properly so I probably wont ever need to get them pulled.

What do you mean by impacted?

Well it cant be too good, your "perfect smile" will never be the same again :O.
Ive had this pain in my mouth for some time but the dentist just said it was my wisdom teeth growing so i shrugged it off, why do they pull out wisdom teeth? Are they evil?

I found that pain wasn't a problem when i had to have teeth out. It was all quite funny actually...probably due to the copius amounts of laughing gas i was given. I woke up after they had finished and i just giggled for no reason at all. In fact, im laughing just thinking about it. Weird actually...Anyway, it was just the holes in my mouth that felt weird. It wasn't painful at all....Man i feel so nostalgic thinking back to then. I haven't really though about that day for years(i was about 8 when i had them out) but i remember my mum being there the whole day and she even bought me a toy before we went in, then for days after she was there just making sure i was ok...;( That smiley is quite a good respresentation of me right now...except the blue face that is.

Most of the problem i've had with the dentist is the numbness that is in your mouth afterwards...its not so much painful jsut annoying when you realise you haven't been chewing a burger, but in fact your tongue, for the past half hour.

wisdoms have to come out soon, although they arnt hurting or anything.

Old ad, i beive for colgate or somthing "we cant show you this dentist's face..." never mind, i dont know if it was shown in Portugal but it was shown in australia and america i belive.

i just clutching at straws, someone may get the referance. i wasnt making fun of your dad or anything.
