Anyone remember the old classic HOMEWORLD?

70 megs is what youre looking for. 7.6 (the 20 MB version) is this new "naval tactical simulation" that is hardly even worth looking at.

I think these is probably the newest versions that still had RTS elements (ie actual collecting of resources and building of ships, something that was removed from 7.5 and up)

However, it lacks certain key features like battle carriers, flagships and nuclear missiles)

So really which one to get is a matter of taste.

I did install the 7.6 mod as it told me to, but whenever i try to use it in Skirmish, it just knocks me to desktop.

A) You don't have homeworld 2 patched to version 1.1

B) You didn't install it correctley and/or the command line was incorrect

or
C) You either have it installed over another mod

On second thought, i dont think anything after 7.2 was supposed to work with skirmish. It just has "scenarios" with a couple of ships shooting missiles at each other from across the map. Like I said, if you want stable skirmish gameplay you'll have to download any of the versions from 6.1 to7.2.

Got it working but it sucked though...are they going to carry on with the 7.6 way of doing things or revert back to the standard Homeworld style?
