Neither did I, got linked to it from another forum. I don't know why it's out now, the release is quite a way away isn;t it?

I'll stick it on my bros computer.

d/ling from that first link at about 1MB/sec.

Everyone's probably moved off that and onto fileplanet :p

Was going at 10KB/s for me :(

i'm getting 250kb/sec, and i'm in the UK on 2mb. 4 mins 30 to go :)

I thought today couldn't get any better. Then suddenly Kaboosh! Right in there in the last four minutes of the day with a demo of one of my most anticipated games of the year. 24 minutes remain... I can go and do something constructive until that time.

Quite weird, only just noticed this. It's still downloading with the FF downloader (didn't notice at first).

Ah well, 1/4 of the way through, so long as it gets here I don't care how it came. I can't wait to see the physics + graphics :D

got a couple freezes when using FF, im using IE with no interrupts now..

wierd...

Sweet- 250mb/s from microsoft site- im in NZ on 2mb aswell :)

Oh it will be...this is what ive been waiting for- i bought my computer for only 3 games- HL2, BF2, and AOE3. :) Woohoo

Just beat the campaign. Must say I really enjoyed it.

Graphics and physics are amazing especially for a RTS game. Ran great on 512RAM XP2500+ and 6600GT. Everything maxed except for Shader detail (enables HDR it kills FPS huge). I can run it on 1280x1024 (no AA).

Acting is good/decent. The story mode if fun now not like AOE 1 & 2. Trading posts are a cool new feature along with heroes and treasure.

City upgrading makes it really replayable.

Overall a must download (especially for the size).

Ok, i must say a few things

This game has the best game performance ever.

Max settings with 512mb ram, 6800GT and a 2500+ barton, and I get NO lag. NONE. Nada.

They need an award for that, not to mention how great he gameplay is, I also just beat the campaign and it was very enjoyable, this is turning out to be the cream of the crop of rts's in the last half decade.

Cool, should run smooth on mine. Damn too many games coming out.

The graphics when the buildings are hit by seige weapons are...OMG.
Very nice- i think im too addicted to BF2 atm, but im definitely gonna buy this.

Is it just me being rubbish, I keep getting my arse kicked :(

And where is the save function? :(

Fun though, although it does look like AoE 2 with my setup :(

So many :( But it's just me, the game is actually good.

i really liked this game, but i feel like he voice acting was horrible! especially when you clicked on the musketmen! when you turn off the sound though, its greath

Oh and a couple of bugs. The priests move on their sides for me (as in they rotate 90 onto their side and then float about), and I used the rocket-artillery-thing card and it didn't turn up. I could have done with that.

I so want this- but even though the server is lightning fast 380 megs is just too much :(

PC mag cover discs ftw!

I'm getting really pissed off with this now.

It looks fine now, reducing to 1024x768 and turning on all the options actually gave me a performance boost too (?) but my sound keeps going and it keeps quitting the game at random. I have seen the introduction about 10 times now :hmph:

HOLY RABBIT SHIT! this came out of nowhere and kicked my ass i9nto high gear, just finished d/ling... bye bye sleep

looked beter on screen shots though, highest on everything, with max resolution, it didnt look too good. and i did like the previous age of empire 2s. i had it on medium, and i just couldnt complete the mission, the enemy keep out teching me and using cannons and such on me.

I thought it was terribly boring and there was nothing new. uninstalled.

nothing new ? .. wow, that was the most clueless statement, EVER.

the new home system is awesome (with the shipments, card system and the ability to keep home towns their level/exp/cards and make your own 'deck').

the trade outpost system is awesome, and the trains look really good.

ships .. nothing new really, they're really large too.

coin plantations (heh .. ok), sheep pens, farming whales (for coin!) are nice aditions.

and so on, did you get stuck on the menu ?

- when i turn aa on, the ground disappears and is all black :(

Doesn't look as good as the screenshots with everything on high and resolution at 1280 x 1204. It's fun though.

It'd be nice if you guys saying it doesn't look as good to actually post some screens to back your opinion up. :dozey:

The thing is, it DOES look as good when you take screenshots, but when the game is actually in motion, for some strange reason, it just looks like any other RTS ever. Gameplay wise, apart from the snazzy new features you already know about, it's EXACTLY the same as every other Age of Empires game. Personally, AoE is by least favorite RTS ever made... mainly because it's all about how mainy villiagers you build and how quickly you can assign them to their duties etc. etc....

In my honest opinion, Dawn of War looks a lot better than Age of Empires 3. It's just a lot more bold and spectacular, whereas AoE3 focuses on trying to make each individual animal blend in with the rest of the world. But this is an RTS. I want to see explosions, damnit! Not frogs sitting on a log!
