Or are we just video taped the most?? Our main export is probably porno. We have TV shows dedicated to stupidity. But are Americans the most taped country in the world??

I got the idea from watching the Black Guy in Aspen video, but its kinda true, Americans look to be the dumbest nation out there. I think we are also the most taped but I could be wrong.

I don't think it's fair to level that claim against any nation. You can make a claim however that we have poor education facilities in this country that leads to a less educated populace... but throwing out the argument that "Americans are stupid" is biased and pointless.

You can also make the claim that many Americans are willfully ignorant.

I think there's a wider spectrum between smart and dumb in the US than in most countries . ..people like Noam chomsky coexist with people like this. so it's not neccessarily that americans are stupid it's that the stupid ones have more of a voice than the intelligent ones

Issues like 'stupidity', as far as we can judge them, are dependent on real cultural and socio-economic factors like political culture and education. So yes, it's entirely possible that Americans are more stupid than some other nationalities.

In my experience, they tend more to extremes. America seems to contain some (alright, many) of the dumbest people in the world. On the other hand, the smartest Americans I've met really are incredibly blisteringly and formidably intelligent.

I wouldn't say Americans are stupid, but that many are ignorant. Hell, myself included.

Ignorance leads to a lot of stupid views, natch. But it's not the same as saying, I dunno, that we're retarded. There are a lot of quick-thinking and sharp people in this country. They just won't be able to tell you where Nepal is.
