I am getting sick and tired of my threads and other threads getting turned into flame wars and spam threads by a bunch of arseholes that have no respect for anyone but their post count. I report posts but see absolutely nothing done about them at at all.

STOP THE SPAMMING AND THE OFF-TOPIC POSTS OR ME, LIKE EVERYONE ELSE IN THE PAST, IS LEAVING. I SEE FAR TOO MANY OF MY POSTS TURNED INTO TOO SHIT BY PEOPLE WHO DON'T LIKE THE MUSIC I LISTEN TO, THE TV I WATCH, THE GAMES I PLAY, MY POLITICIAL OPINION.

I am getting sick and tired of it and the moderators don't do shit about it. Bliink and everyone else, get out of the politics thread and get into the other forums and does the bloody "Report Post" button actually work or do you guys just choose to ignore it?

And here is another thing that pisses me off, why do you lock spam threads. People make them to up their post count and you lock them and do nothing to warn them....heres a novel idea, delete the threads and warn the people making them, thus they have lost the posts that were created by the spam thread and got a slap on the wrist and sometimes a punch in the mouth for making them.

Realise that currently, a lot of mods are on leave or have real life commitments that have left us stretched pretty thin at the moment.

Furthermore, spam is a difficult thing to combat when all we can do at the moment is delete spam and warn members in a difficult and cumbersome way which is difficult for us to follow up on. We're waiting for the warning script to be finalised to this can be corrected, but until then, realise that we're not gods, and that a certain degree of maturity on the part of other members is needed regardless of moderator input.

i am in no way taking sides with anyone here...but why do people post in threads where the topic is something that doesn't interest them to begin with?
in all the time i have spent reading and posting in forums, the thing i notice the most is when people who have absolutely no interest in thread topic end up taking the thread way off topic or worse... it turns into a flamefest.

As bliink pointed out (and Razor appeared to ignore), the mods are doing their jobs just fine. Threads get closed (which you can see). Threads get deleted (which you can't see) and people get warned (which you also can't see). We deal with all the reported threads (which you also can't see)

If you're disliking the way things are done (which is exactly the same way things have always been done - nothing has changed), then please feel free to leave. It's obviously getting to you. We're not going to change the way we moderate this site until it fits in with how you feel it should be done.

Funnily enough, the "report post" button CREATES A REPORT. The moderators see the report, the moderators act on it.

It's also worthy of note that the last reported post was over 12 hours ago

Its not that simple, its a lengthy proccess to find and promote staff, and it wouldnt work on a seasonal basis.

I think mini mods would be a good idea. Like, a select, mature few of the old timers get limited moderation capabilities. Like tempo banning users for 2 weeks max, which is a timeframe a real mod could asses the situation to see if a longer, or perma ban is in order. Editing posts, or maybe completely deleting single posts, but not entire threads. Combining and moving threads (to take petty work of the real mods shoulders so they get more time for real work). And then whatever else seems like petty work to mods, like stickying and such.

Then it would be the real mods task to perma ban, lock threads, and delete threads now that the mini mods, or petty mods are taking care of the petty work.

I don't feel so passionately about this topic, but considering its here i'll just mention that i have noticed many things razor has said. He's not crying to an extent, im sure hes only pointing things out for improvement. Whats wrong with some crititism when its true. Bliink said moderators are stretched now, and i believe that is evident, CB, Zermin and Danimal away, or he could be back now, but there are problems, like spam and idiots trolling.

Oh and Erestheux you need to relax instead of complaining about razor saying those things, i can see where hes coming from and even the moderators here. I and most other people just hope things will get back on the feet soon. e.g. warning system back and staff back from holidays. In the meantime, i hope to see more deleted spam, thats my only wish Toodle pip chaps. *tips hat*
