I personally belive that they test out some new technology. Nothing that has to do with aliens. I believe that they don't care about the people knowing about it, but rather other nations. I believe that its simply testing out new stealth planes etc..

Thats all I believe that it's used for. Testing some new technology. I mean they obviously have to test it somewhere. I don't beleive its like spacecraft shit or anything. Maybe there testing out a new stealth bomber, trying to improve technology. Makes perfect sense. I mean if you don't want other nations to know about it then in order to do that you must make sure no one really knows about it.

Honestly though, Area 51 has nothing weird about it, its justa US base where they test new planes and stuff. Of coruse there are "Shoot on sight" signs, its a US base. They dont want people snooping around and stealing stuff.

Area 51 doesn't exist officially as a number of family members of people who died there tried to sue the US Government for gross negligence and health and safety violations, they judge had to throw it out as it was against a place that "doesn't exist". Area 51, Groomlake, Dreamland, etc, etc is just a place where they test new technology such as stealth and, the Red Hat squadron also flew from Area 51 during the 60's and 70's. There were rumours, as Bliink said, that a lot of the secret stuff was moved out years ago to another secret facility as Area51 was getting too much press coverage and far too much interest was taken in it, so while everyones watching Area51, the real top secret stuff is going on at another base in California or somewhere.

area 51 has been begrudingly recognized, but still holds its top secret clearance with the shot to kill status like sandia national labs, or white sands.

it was also used for nuke testing back in the day and the area still contains fallout radiation, that has leached into the surronding top soil. as reported by EPA investigations, and independent colaborators. it is reported that at times the radiation becomes strong enough that the topside is closed down.

this base has become less usable due to several conditions. and a majority of this work has moved to several differnt locations. as has been noted by the less frequent travels by dreamland express and the bussing service has all but stopped
