ARMA 2 on Steam June 26th

was a typo.. mode... i like watching the legs go round 100558585mph

this game still isn't working for me...Imight have cancel my pre-order id they can't get their shit right,YOU"D THINK THEY'D LEARN FROM THEIR MISTAKES,****.

I was so close on buying this, but the demo made me change my mind. Sure it seemed like it could be fun. But it was just so frigging buggy. Driving and flying felt really akward... The game keeps freezing a lot etc. Going to wait for a few thousand patches and try again then.

Maybe you just can't do it right because you cant speak or write even remotely decent English.

Haha, I was sold when halfway through the demo during my boot camp training to use the RPGs, the god-damn insurgents in the nearby village decided to interrupt. A reload or two later I was Hudson from Aliens handing out the pain 'You want some muddafunster?' Boom, Boom 'You want some as well?' Double tap, etc AWESOME ;)

One credit card instantly spanked ;)

Game is buggy, but atmosphere is great. The first mission, we start to advance on the village and our squad leader face plants as soon as we are near the outskirts, not even wounded, but straight to dead AWESOME :E

You dont spell anything right though, so spelling and grammatical errors made by you dont offend me so much anymore Qonfused.

Anyways, this game ****ing kicks ass. It is complicated, and very unfriendly at first, but now that i have gotten used to most of the controls and everything, I love it. Its exactly what i have been wanting in a game for the longest time. Its what I wanted BF2 to be, what I wanted Soldner to be.

Its like a mix of Vietcong, BF2, STALKER and a whole heap of awesome. I have just one question, and if the answer is yes, then this may very well be my favorite shooter i have ever played. Can you play the Campaign in coop? I havent messed with any of the multiplayer shit yet so i have no idea.

Yeah it's possible to play the campaign online. When you go to host a server there is an option to pick the campaign. I don't recall seeing any servers running it though.

well if there isn't a patch that fixes teh ****ed up graphics glitch by the 5th...I'm canceling my pre-order.

Anyone know how to get rid of the blur effect they have going on. I'll grab a screen shot later when I'm home but after around 20 meters distance the environment becomes very blury. It's a strange effect and makes no sence.

Yeah the blur and the head bob (while cool looking in videos) is more of a hinder than anything in the actual game. I'd like options to be able to tune them individually, even if it was just like "Low, Normal, High, Very High" rather than a slider.

They are planning on adding individual toggles for HDR, depth of field and motionblur with the next patch as far as I know.

There is a slider where you can tune down the headbobbing. It is in 'game options' iirc.

Sometimes I hate the AI in this game so ****ing much..

DigiQ, it'll be improved with patches, heck in ARMA2 1.01, NPCs could even walk through walls and stuff; I shit you not.

Wait, theres a patch already? Even for the steam version? I've noticed a couple of npcs going through walls.

No idea what version the Steam is, the original(first release) version, which was German only, was 1.00, then they release 1.01 Beta, then 1.01, then 1.02, and now they're working on 1.03.

There should be a version number in the main menu of the game so check that out to see what version you have.

Personally I would never buy games like these off Steam since you can't control what version of the game you want, and for some mods for ARMA, they don't work with the latest etc, which is why I dislike autopatching(or in this case, if you later download the game, it is already updated to the latest version).

They're good with patches. I could barely play ArmA smoothly before the 4th or 5th patch.

Finally got the ambient combat module working after quite some time. It's pretty fun when properly figured. I built me a little base in the middle of a field and tried to defend it while this huge battle was going on around me. Set up some MG nests and started blasting away. I put Razor squad in my team and we pretty much kicked ass until enemy jets started flying by.

How do you get ACM to work? I put it down but nothing happens.

Do you need to put down a base and stuff so the AI can build new units?

To activate ACM just select 'Synchronize' from the menu on the right (F5) and sync it with the player's unit on the map. Just drag a line between them.

I have no idea how to configure it though. At best I just get a few helicopters flying around the map with the odd patrol if I'm lucky. There's also the "SecOps" module which'll create assignments for you to do on the fly - e.g. attack this convoy, kill this target etc.

finaly spent some quality time with this lastnight and its great :) Plays just like the origanal flashpoint rather then buggy crap like ArmA but there are still crap tons of bugs there :(

I'm not overly keen on this RAZOR squad thing, it seems a little action holywood, I would rather be a grunt in part of a larger team like in flashpoint.

Right now I'm on mission 3, assalting some big factory town, its a hard one!

Anyone up for co-op?

Stormy, well, ARMA1 with the latest beta patch is nearly flawless, with great performance and almost no bugs, ARMA2 will without a doubt get the same patch support, considering it has already sold way better than ARMA1 did within the same timeperiod.

Fair enough.

they really need to hire some game testers.

Then buy a new PC with a different hardware configuration and cross your fingers!

After playing this game's demo for a while, I'm interested...the gameplay is definitely deeper than most other FPS I've played, and I love how customizable even the demo's limited editor is. My only real complaint is the AI's sometimes strange behavior and inconsistent performance. And I haven't even gotten into MP yet.

Not sure if I'll buy it, but I'm definitely considering it.
