Art contest topic idea's

Ok This isn't the actual contest itself, its just a thread to post your idea's. Try limit actual discussion to a minimum so people can read through the idea's quicker and make sure they aren't reposting already suggested topics.

Basically the contests that went before, forget those, so if there has been a topic from them you enjoyed, feel free to mention it in here.

Also bare in mind, the new art contests will be connected to the modeling and texturing contests later on. Maybe that'll help give you more idea's.

Oh and the proper contest should start in about four days, just need Munro to do something first then they'll start up again

Do we have to limit the art contest to HL2-related stuff only? There'd be lots of stuff to choose if the contest could be about absolutely anything as long as it's got to do with image editing.

Like, new Star Wars alien ideas or ideas for giant city-destroying mutants.

Perhaps we could do a HL2.net-version of Something Awfuls forum thread "New changes to Star Wars", that was hilarious and I think some here would probably come up with at least as good stuff.

I've never seen that screenshot before, when did Valve release that?!
I'd like to see a HL-2 skin competition for Steam, make it less suck.

what about, create original model sheets (side and front) of a character to be modelled. Could be any kind of character, good or evil, realistic or cartoony. But the rules should state that the concept model sheets should be of certain deminsions and side and front views should match up nicely when brought into the 3d package to model against.

The way I figure it, anyone whos interested in cg and half life 2 are more likely than not to be interested in modding for it. So eventually you'll want to make a model for the game, this is the first step!

I am against the idea of making a new hl2 character and car body work. You should give someone an idea to work with. Like machines or making an organic robot. Don't just do stupid things like make gordon a new crowbar because they suck dick:

c01: Intergrate metal with flesh creating a cybernetic organism

c02: Generate a organic life form from digital information. Imagen what someone would look like in cyberspace.

c03: The world has become to dangerous for human life to exist. Create some kind of protection for organic life to live on an inhospital planet.

c04: Living forms such as trees, grass, plants etc... do not have organs, create a concept of what these types of (can't remember the word) would look like if they had become dominate blood flowing creatures.

c05: Humans have always resorted to violant sports such as boxing and ultimate fighting. Throw your self into the future and create a concept of what these games could look like after humans evolve into blood thirsty creatures.

c06: Style has always been important for 70% of the human population, throw your self into the future and draw what you would look like without been embarassed.

NOTE: Organic/Organisms do/does not mean humanoid

There my ideas anyway, its a little violant of gory most of them. But it wouldn't be hard to make a normal one.
